proud of the @zocomputer team, especially my bf @0thernet, for their launch yesterday 🩷 when i met ben, he was an engineering mgr @stripe. two months later, he quit, sent the entire company a departure email, stole 20 bottles of juice, and got locked in the stairwell on his way downstairs. after he left stripe, he first worked on an inference product for months before sunsetting it. what i respect most is that he did not give up. instead, he and his cofounder @perceptnet spent more time wading through ambiguity, workshopping ideas then shelving them weeks later. those agonizing months were the necessary conditions that led to zo. when zo began, ben did everything he could to spend more time working. he wore the ugliest weighted clothing to burn calories without exercising. he bought a pedal machine designed for senior citizens to move his ankles while sitting. ben created a desk setup that was 100% mobile and wheeled himself around the office while attached to his computer. he began coding 7 days a week and exploring all the ai coding agents in fervor. he chose cursor as his sword and spent $6K in one month, blasting through half a million lines of code. ben knew that founder marketing was important, so he started posting every few hours. he bombed on x for his entire first month. it was painful, even for me, to look at his tweets, but he kept going. yesterday, the launch tweet went viral on his x account. zo has been alive for a little over 6 months now, and it's finally being recognized for what it is: a new primitive for people to collaborate more deeply with ai on anything, create more powerful personal software and tools, and own everything they create. your conviction is a gift. thank you for sharing it with me for two and a half years. love you 😊

@kirbyman01 Beautifully said @kirbyman01. Losing a parent is the hard, and even harder when it’s unexpected. A reminder to tell your family (and friends!) you love them as early and often as possible 🙏🏽❤️

Happy birthday in heaven! Mom would have been 68 years old today. She passed away a bit more than 2 months ago, suddenly and without any signs. I don’t know if I really understand the circumstances of her death or that I ever will. I was dreading today. Like any human, mom was imperfect, but I never doubted that she loved my brother and I. Or that she was proud of how we grew up. I remembered reading a tweet about a parent who passed away that helped me. So I wanted to return the favor to those who may have lost someone near and dear to their heart recently. She was born into a humble family in Korea with insanely high achieving three brothers, under loving and stern parents. Married my dad and they soon moved to San Diego. I don’t think it was easy for her to adjust and we ultimately moved back to Korea. My mom was well educated and proud. She worked as an English tutor to make the ends meet, and encouraged us to study hard. She would stand in line from 4am so that I could attend the best after school programs. I never skipped school and when I was very sick one day and thought I should stay home, she asked me to sit up from the bed. Then she told me if I can sit up in bed, I can sit in a classroom. I never skipped school.  I know she was the happiest when she lived with or around her sons. Years in New York and San Francisco with me and years in Seattle with my brother. I know she was the happiest then. And I am so glad that we loved and treated her the best we could. I’m glad that she got to live in a blue house of her own in San Francisco, with a beautiful garden. I’m glad she traveled many parts of the world, and that we were able to be there for her.  Yet I am regretful about my last conversation with mom. I am regretful that maybe I could have, should have done much more. I am regretful that I didn’t tell her how much I loved her and how much her support meant to me. What  my therapist said after my mom passed away continues to hit me like a brick. This is the first time that I am living my life, motherless. Obvious, but hard hitting.  I miss her. Because she lived in Korea during her last fee years of her life, it doesn’t hit me that she’s gone on a daily basis. But I miss her. Persistent. Ever present. At random times - on a plane, walking to work, late at night. I hope she is happy somewhere. I hope that she is finally resting. Away from it all.  All I can do is to carry her memory with me. And make sure that I am a better person for the world because of her. Kinder, softer and gentler. And remind folks to tell their parents that you love them. Often.  Happy birthday, 엄마. 사랑해요.

Running is more fun when you're holding an easy conversation with a friend. I made an app called Pace that tries to recreate that feeling when you're running alone. Just pick an AI running partner and topic to talk about, and start your run.

We sold @styl_app :) As I look back on the last 2 years, I can’t believe how blessed we’ve been.

Even though Rahul and I never ended up building a male version (so we could never use the product ourselves), the love and support we’ve received from our community of users always pushed us to work through sleepless nights.  Even though we’d been rejected through 4 cycles of accelerator applications, we frugally hustled. Whether it was surviving on canned tuna sandwiches, manually placing orders so users could have a seamless checkout experience or recording the most embarrassing videos to hack our way into virality— the scrappiness made it all the more special. Even though we’re just 2 kids who grew up playing Tennis together in India and somehow landed up at Duke together, we’ve had this crazy journey with a lifetime's worth of stories and the support of incredible people without whom this would have never happened. Dev, Lokesh, Aditya, Maya, Rayan: thank you for believing in us even when nothing seemed to be working. It is such an honor to be acquired by a figure in Silicon Valley we’ve always looked up to and the generation-defining companies he’s built. I wish I could share more, but it’ll have to wait till we come out of stealth. I graduate this semester and Rahul is taking time off Duke. We’re headed to SF to continue working at the intersection of e-commerce and AI and are hopeful this product will truly be paradigm-shifting. Something we’ve dreamed of giving our users all along. Something the world has never seen before.

@mfg @michaelmiraflor Micah's too cool for us now ever since he discovered Padel (he's the type of guy that corrects your pronunciation). And definitely down for LA hang (though not at fight club 🤣)

Hundreds of people showing up to run club meets. Literally hundreds, half for fitness half to find community/dating. Dating apps are failing (finally). More people in your circle are dependent on some sort of AI for some level of companionship than they'd like to admit.

@mfg @michaelmiraflor Wall Street's skepticism of Bumble's future revenue growth does not = "users don't like online dating." Our friend, Google, shows 42% of adults say online dating makes it easier to find love (it worked for me!). But, sure, trust 100 people at a run club.

two ai creators walk into a bar... i'm super excited about this launch, as it started from an inspired chat with @thekrishjay, evolved to some fun prototypes for editing multi-speaker scripts that felt uniquely fresh and came together with dynamic backgrounds based on your skit ✨
Gaurav Misra@gmharhar

Today, we're launching AI Skits: a new chapter for AI talking videos. The social landscape is changing, and new forms of videos are being introduced every week. Our aim at @getcaptionsapp is to make it easy to post videos on social that feel timely and relevant, wherever the landscape is headed. That's why we're announcing AI Skits: the same type of video you've seen taking over Reels or TikTok — discussing airline miles, news, credit card options, or just for entertainment — but entirely generated by AI. Just enter in a short prompt, and you can generate conversations between two AI Creators. See an example below, and try it for yourself on Captions.
