It's pretty cold living in a house without central heating even though it's only in the 50F range overnight. I am supposed to make bread today, and my hands are just constantly clammy pins and needles. Though the gas stove is now my hearth I guess.

@sqiouyilu It is hard to figure out who you are as a culture if your only recognition of culture is spending and voting demographics, I think we're going to see a lot more "microidentity" diversity in diaspora, because that's how cultures work when identities are held enough to be flexible.

@sqiouyilu I think we keep changing how we conceive of self/other dichotomies because we don't know how to talk about the thing after the ethnostate (which doesn't apply to SO many Asians!) but diaspora is already post ethnostate while enshrining it as an identity that can be static.

I had had quite an affinity for the @ in “latin@“ because (1) I fuckin love using ligatures, look at my pronoun æ and (2) it actually reflected my yin yang ☯️ understanding of -o and -a as duality constructs better than o/a or x or e by combining them to one fluidity concept

AFAIK the violent behavior has stopped which I guess is what we all said we wanted. Unclear to me how it's teshuva if you don't redress the harm though.

@bodhishitposta @meep_matsushima I know Pilipinx people whose extreme desire to move on was to settle for "I'll accept the youth excuse for a personal apology" and instead we all have to grit our teeth and pretend our community wasn't specifically targeted with death threats which have never been acknowledged.

A gentle reminder that if you don't want to do anything "special" with your day off of work, you're allowed to call off plans, watch youtube compilations of your favorite TV show, and eat whatever is in your house. It doesn't have to have a deep reason. But it's okay if it does.
