9️⃣ Client Communication 🗣️ How does the client know it’s limited? HTTP Headers! - HTTP 429: Too Many Requests - X-RateLimit-Limit - X-RateLimit-Remaining - X-RateLimit-Retry-After A good client uses these to trigger an exponential backoff retry logic.

Just crushed a mock system design interview on 'Rate Limiting'! #learninpublic It’s easy to say "block excess requests", but designing a distributed system to handle 1 MILLION requests per second is a different thing. Here is my breakdown of trade-offs and algorithms. 🧵👇

Hi @LFC ❤️ My brother Carl is a lifelong Liverpool fan and loves Dominik Szoboszlai. He’s currently battling terminal cancer, and Liverpool is one of the few things that still brings him joy. A short video message from Dom or any of the players would mean the absolute world.

After an incredible 2.5 years, I'm leaving Oracle. What started as building products evolved into something bigger. Understanding how teams think, how leaders operate, and how real engineering culture is shaped behind the scenes. I got to experience both the product and service worlds, and that dual lens changed how I see tech entirely. Now here's what I can't stop thinking about: AI is reshaping the world faster than we can keep up. But what fascinates me most isn't the technology itself. It's how we capture the nuances of human behaviour and make machines truly understand us. That curiosity is pulling me somewhere exciting. More on that soon. 🚀

@mercer70638 Valid point, half built consumes more energy on maintenance than what it saves

Smart framework. I like how you mapped skills to evidence instead of just making lists. The "Build" pillar is where I see the biggest opportunity right now. Most solopreneurs I work with spend 15+ hours weekly on repetitive backend tasks that AI can handle: email processing, content generation, data entry. The key is automating one workflow completely before moving to the next. Half-built systems create more work than they save.

I've been lying to myself about my skills for years. Yesterday, I sat down to honestly assess where I stand as a solopreneur. I rated myself 4/5 on "SEO", realized I've never ranked a page on google's first page. That's not a 4. That's a 2 at best. continued...👇

It's free, open source, runs entirely in your browser. skillsmap.indirakumar.com If you're building solo, try filling it out honestly. The gaps it reveals might surprise you - they surprised me. Pls feel free to DM for any feedback

The idea is simple: Fill it out today. Export proofwork-2026-03.json. Put it in a folder. Fill it out again in June. Load the March snapshot. Hit "Compare." Watch the diff. That's your real growth - not vibes.
