what fantasy.top actually built, and what almost nobody talks about in the post-mortems, is a real-time market on attention. for the first time you could watch a KOL post something and watch their price move 30 seconds later. people were betting on each other in public and everyone could feel it. that loop was the magic. the card game wrapper around it was the mistake. they spent 2.5 years trying to make a sustainable collectible game out of a mechanic that was actually a degen sport. wrong shape for what they had. we're building the version that keeps the loop and drops the wrapper. soon.

we're aiming to build the biggest game around crypto twitter on Solana it's called @pimpiredotfun. players are pimps. the talents you sign are real CT influencers. each one is a card. each one earns $PAPER based on how they perform on twitter. but here's the part i actually care about. the game rewards YOUR CT presence too. bagworkers, reply guys, builders, KOLs. anyone actually showing up in the space gets permanent advantages that make their earning more efficient. we want the people who keep this place alive to actually win something.

i haven't lived in Malaysia on my own, so I can't speak with certainty but I have quite a few friends in bkk who have lived in Malaysia, and according to them, life in Kuala Lumpur was far more boring than in Bangkok. They talk about the number of events and places to go, etc although I've also heard that it's much cleaner there. what do you think?

@RVAClassic vn is cheaper on paper but the lifestyle gap is huge. infra, gyms, healthcare, english-speaking, weekend trips etc bangkok wins on all of them. you save $300/mo to live noticeably worse

how often do you have to throw months of work straight into the trash? i'm sure a lot of more experienced builders in this space have been through this, but for me it was a pretty new type of pain we spent 4+ months building a fantasy game @slaversedotfun, paid a 5-figure amount in salaries, and put in a ridiculous amount of effort, just to eventually realize we basically burned everything on paper it looked like a guaranteed banger. viral controversial theme + proven fantasy game concept. but after running a closed beta test, reality hit hard. two things became obvious: 1. the core loop doesn't hold. people get it, they try it, but there's no real "i need to come back" feeling. no addiction loop. 2. the economy doesn't work. the model we spent the most time on looked great in theory, but in practice it's not sustainable without a full rebuild. and then, a couple days later, we get an email from x saying the slaverse account violates community rules. double kill. after a 6-hour brainstorm we made the decision. no patching. no fixing around the edges. we're changing the concept completely and rebuilding the economy from scratch. we then spent dozens of hours analyzing the most successful crypto games. retention loops, progression systems, monetization, virality mechanics. and at some point the puzzle finally clicked. but this post is already way too long, so i'll stop here. i'll write part 2 soon and share what we found.

telling devs to "just use public assets" to keep artistic integrity is genuinely so funny unity asset flips have been the most generic stuff on steam since like 2014, way before ai. so this whole "integrity" thing was already cooked artistic integrity is about having your own vision. it has nothing to do with which tools you refuse to touch. solo devs with ai are shipping things that used to need a team of 10 people. that IS skill people cried about unity. cried about unreal blueprints. cried about godot. same thing every time real problem is devs with no taste, who would ship garbage with or without ai
