Spending time with the amazing students in the Deanwood Broadcast program is a highlight of my summer each year. I am incredibly proud of the high school and college graduates who have come through this program. Grateful to be a small part of it @bootsyvegas and @dcdpr.

I had the honor of speaking with high school and college students involved in the Deanwood Radio Broadcast Program, based at the Deanwood Recreation Center in Northeast D.C. The students were engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and showed a real passion! @DCPR @bootsyvegas

So today concluded @DCDPR Deanwood Broadcast Program partnership & leading the @SmithsonianFolk 2025 Festival. Today we ended the session with a Q&A discussion with @DonnieSimpson & @DCAllisontv discussing the role on mentorship & their role developing the young students at Deanwood. This experience has been an absolute Game changer for youth development & The next Wave of journalist which lives inside a Deanwood fyi. So for those who don’t know @DCDPR Deanwood broadcast journalism program is hosting / moderating & leading all discussions for @SmithsonianFolk festival . This is huge because this is the first time the Smithsonian has partnered with an outside youth entity to lead a festival. Now this event is going on still today until Monday if you would like to attend & support The Deanwood Students
