India’s #IncomeTax system has become simpler and more transparent in recent years under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Earlier, a complex web of exemptions made tax filing difficult for the common citizen, often leading to confusion and delays. “PM Modi suggested the idea of giving taxpayers a choice between the old and new tax systems, making the process more flexible and easier. The idea was to make taxation simple, so that a person can calculate and pay taxes on their own without complexity or dispute,” says Ajay Bhushan Pandey, Former Finance Secretary of India. Today, filing returns is quick and hassle free, with pre-filled forms, faceless processes, and faster refunds. From today, April 1, with the new financial year and updated income tax provisions coming into effect, compliance becomes even more streamlined and taxpayer friendly.

India’s strong partnership with Israel dates back to Narendra Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2006. His engagement began with a clear developmental purpose. He wanted to understand how a water-scarce nation had achieved success in agriculture through innovation, technology, and scientific water management. During his visit to Agritech, he studied advanced irrigation systems, greenhouse cultivation, wastewater recycling, dairy development and high-value agriculture. Recognising the similarities between Gujarat and Israel, he sought solutions to strengthen water efficiency and improve farmers’ productivity in Gujarat. At the India-Israel Business Forum, he articulated the phrase “Divided by Land, United by Water” and reinforced the vision of “More Crops per Drop,” which later became central to Gujarat’s water strategy. Over a decade later, in 2017, Narendra Modi created history by becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel. That visit marked a decisive shift in bilateral relations and elevated ties to a strategic level. Cooperation expanded beyond agriculture into technology, digital innovation, defense and advanced manufacturing. His strong rapport with Benjamin Netanyahu helped build trust and accelerate collaboration between industries and research institutions. Speaking about this transformation, Baba Kalyani, an Indian industry leader who was part of the 2017 delegation, says, “In these years, we learned what we could not have learned in the last fifty years,” he said, highlighting the scale of cooperation achieved between India and Israel. Today, as #PMModi continues his engagement with Israel, the journey shows continuity and depth. What began in 2006 as a focused effort to bring agricultural innovation to Gujarat has evolved into a comprehensive strategic partnership between two nations, built on technology, trust and shared vision. #ModiInIsrael

𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗶’𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗘𝗿𝗮 India’s rise as a digital powerhouse has been guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s belief that technology must empower the common citizen. From Digital India to UPI and Direct Benefit Transfers, his approach has been clear. Innovation must reach every hand. During interactions with AI startup leaders, the Prime Minister described India as a positive adopter of technology. He emphasised that artificial intelligence should not remain limited to discussions about possibility. It must create measurable impact. This thinking shapes the AI Summit, appropriately described as an Impact Summit, where the focus is on outcomes and implementation. He has highlighted how rapidly AI is evolving and why India must accelerate its AI Mission at scale. His vision is to position India at the centre of the global AI conversation. The aim is not simply to host an event in India, but to make it an event of India. Prime Minister @narendramodi has also stressed that technology should directly serve citizens. Just as digital platforms enabled direct benefit transfers, AI can provide direct access to knowledge. A farmer seeking crop advice or a student looking for personalised learning support can benefit directly. The AI Impact Summit signals India’s intent to scale innovation, expand access and ensure that artificial intelligence delivers real benefits to society. #IndiaAIImpactSummit2026 @SarvamAI

𝗣𝗠 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘆𝗮 𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝗳𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝗷𝗹𝗶 𝗬𝗼𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗮 – 𝗔 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 On this day in 2024, PM Narendra Modi launched the #PMSuryaGhar scheme with a clear vision to bring rooftop solar power to millions of households and scale up clean energy adoption across India. The initiative aimed not only to provide subsidies but to create a nationwide movement toward energy independence through technology-driven implementation. During its development, the Prime Minister suggested integrating the scheme with PM Gati Shakti so that rooftop solar planning could align with a broader national digital infrastructure platform and benefit society at large. As recalled by Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Former Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), "The focus had initially been only on #RooftopSolar deployment, but the Prime Minister’s idea of integrating it with a national technology platform expanded its scope significantly. He noted that despite facing criticism at the time, the Prime Minister stood firm, believing that scaling solar energy at a mass level would ultimately serve the long-term interests of the state and the country." #MuftBijliYojana

#ParikshaPeCharcha is more than an annual interaction; it is a reassuring conversation that places students’ well-being at the centre of the examination process. Conceived by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the initiative was designed to change the way exams are viewed. Instead of fear and anxiety, exams are presented as a natural step in learning and personal growth. Through Pariksha Pe Charcha, the Prime Minister speaks directly to students, parents, and teachers, addressing exam stress with empathy, clarity, and practical guidance. He encourages students to focus on preparation rather than pressure, to manage time wisely, and to believe in their own abilities. By sharing personal experiences and simple life lessons, he helps students realise that marks do not define their worth and that calm confidence is as important as hard work. The initiative also sends a strong message to families and educators. Parents are urged to support rather than compare, and teachers are encouraged to nurture curiosity instead of fear. This collective approach helps create a healthier environment around examinations, where students feel understood and supported. Over the years, Pariksha Pe Charcha has evolved into a nationwide movement that normalises conversations around stress, mental health, and self-belief. By turning an anxious phase into a moment of motivation, the initiative continues to help millions of students face examinations with confidence, balance, and inner strength. #ParikshaPeCharcha2026

India attained independence decades ago, yet several colonial symbols continued long after the British left. True independence is not only about governance, but also about the symbols a nation chooses to honour. For years, the hymn “Abide with Me” was played at the Beating Retreat Ceremony, despite having no connection with India’s freedom struggle. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this changed with the inclusion of “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon”. This shift transformed the ceremony into a tribute to India’s martyrs, placing national sacrifice above inherited colonial traditions. It marked a step towards choosing our own symbols and honouring our own sacrifices. #BeatingRetreat

On #NationalGirlChildDay, India recognises that empowering daughters strengthens the nation. This belief has guided the public life and governance approach of Narendra Modi. His consistent focus on the girl child has shaped national priorities and thinking. For young achievers like Tarushi Gaur from Chandigarh, this vision became deeply personal. Starting taekwondo at just four years of age, Tarushi’s journey has been defined by discipline, determination, and passion. Over the years, she won medals at national school games, federation events, and CBSE nationals, and went on to become a Guinness World Record holder. In 2022, on National Girl Child Day itself, she received the Rashtriya Bal Shakti Puraskar from the Prime Minister. Beyond the award, it was the interaction that left a lasting impact. The Prime Minister’s warmth and simplicity put young awardees at ease and inspired confidence. Many girls who were initially nervous found encouragement in his words. Through initiatives like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Kanya Kelavani, and sustained support for girls in education, sports, science, and innovation, the message has been clear that empowering girls is essential to nation building. Telecast live and shown across schools, the ceremony motivated countless young girls, many seeing a possibility of what they too could achieve. National Girl Child Day is more than a celebration. It is a reminder to believe in daughters, support their ambitions, and give them equal opportunity to move forward because when girls progress, the nation progresses. #BetiBachaoBetiPadhao #GirlChildEmpowerment #MODISTORYIMPACT

#BJPPresident #NitinNabin

#BJPPresident #NitinNabin

Prominent industrialist M. L. Mittal passed away, leaving behind memories of a close personal association with Narendra Modi dating back to Modi’s early years as a young BJP leader in the 1990s. Mittal had shared personal moments from that time, offering insights into Modi’s discipline, simplicity, and way of life. Nearly twenty-five years ago, during one of his overseas visits as a BJP national leader, Narendra Modi travelled to Trinidad and Tobago. During that visit, he stayed at M. L. Mittal’s residence. Mittal often recalled how deeply impressed he was by Modi’s simple lifestyle and clarity of thought even at that stage. “He came along with a few senior karyakartas and stayed at my apartment, which had only four bedrooms,” Mittal recalled. “The air-conditioned rooms were given to senior leaders. I requested Modi ji to take my room or allow me to arrange a hotel stay. He firmly declined and chose instead a small utility room used for ironing clothes. It had no air-conditioning and no attached bathroom, but he said it was more than sufficient for him.” Mittal remembered that every morning, Narendra Modi would wake up around 5 AM, prepare tea himself, and arrange breakfast for everyone before the staff arrived. “That level of self-discipline and consideration for others was uncommon,” he would say. What left a lasting impression on Mittal was Modi’s clarity of thought and understanding of public issues, even without holding any formal position of power. He often spoke with confidence about poverty alleviation and the role of the Indian diaspora worldwide, combining depth of knowledge with humility. Mittal also recalled visiting Narendra Modi in Delhi during his tenure as BJP’s national general secretary. He was surprised to find him staying in a small room within an MP’s quarters, with minimal facilities. “He welcomed me warmly, lit a small lamp, and even fetched drinking water himself. Despite growing responsibilities, his personal habits remained unchanged.” During several journeys together, Mittal observed Modi’s strict routine and austere choices. He consistently avoided hotels, preferred staying with swayamsevaks or local supporters, and maintained simple food habits. “Even when hungry, he would take out jaggery and peanuts and say, ‘This is enough for me,’” Mittal recalled. He also shared that during international travel, Narendra Modi received a modest daily allowance. He would save part of it and return the remaining amount to the party headquarters for public work. “Whenever I visited Gujarat later, he ensured I was well looked after,” Mittal added, “but he would quietly stick to fruits.” M. L. Mittal’s recollections stand as valuable accounts of a bond shaped by shared values, established long before Narendra Modi emerged on the national stage. #ModiStory

Launched on this day in 2016, #StartupIndia marked a new chapter in India’s approach to entrepreneurship and innovation, placing young Indians at the centre of nation-building. For entrepreneurs like Rajat Jain from Dehradun, Startup India brought a decisive change. In a city with no existing startup ecosystem, it became the first source of basic know-how, guidance, and direction. His startup works on a portable ECG device aimed at making early heart diagnosis more accessible and affordable, especially beyond major urban centres. From filing his first trademark and patent to receiving seed funding through a DST-supported incubator, key early steps were enabled through Startup India. The initiative also provided national and global visibility. As part of the Startup India delegation, Rajat Jain attended the World Economic Forum twice. In 2018, his interaction with Narendra Modi through a video call, followed by a one-on-one meeting, became a major moment of validation. "Public appreciation from the Prime Minister gave me confidence during the uncertain early phase of entrepreneurship," says Jain. Startup India has helped build trust and credibility for startup founders across the country, enabling young innovators to build with confidence and contribute meaningfully to India’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat. #10YearsOfStartupIndia #MODISTORYIMPACT

Kite Festival fills the sky with colour, joy, and celebration during Makar Sankranti. As kites rise high, they symbolise new beginnings and shared happiness. What starts on rooftops becomes a collective experience, bringing people together in a spirit of tradition and festivity. Envisioned by Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister, the festival evolved into an international gathering that welcomes kite flyers from around the world. Today, the Kite Festival stands as a symbol of unity and cultural exchange, where the sky becomes a shared celebration for all. #IKF2026 #InternationalKiteFestival

For Narendra Modi, Swami Vivekananda is a guiding influence, especially when it comes to India’s youth. Vivekananda believed that the future of a nation is shaped by the strength, confidence, and character of its young minds. This belief gives deep meaning to #NationalYouthDay, celebrated on the birth anniversary of 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝗩𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently turned National Youth Day into more than a remembrance. He has used it as a moment to inspire ambition, self-belief, and a sense of purpose among young Indians. His message to the youth carries Vivekananda’s timeless call to rise with courage, discipline, and determination. Under this vision, young Indians are seen not as passive recipients of schemes, but as active partners in building a developed India. Initiatives that encourage entrepreneurship, innovation, and participation in emerging sectors such as space are a continuation of this belief. National Youth Day thus becomes a platform where ideas meet opportunity and youthful energy is trusted with responsibility. This belief in India’s youth takes shape in the journey of a young innovator Hitendra Singh. Here is his story...

As the nation celebrates #SomnathSwabhimaanParv, marking a thousand years since Somnath first faced destruction, the focus is not on what was broken, but on what endured. Somnath draws its meaning from the survival of faith, memory, and cultural confidence across generations. For Narendra Modi, Somnath Mandir is not only a place for Darshan . He wants visitors to understand India’s history, the journey of its civilisation, and Somnath’s role in shaping that story. This vision moved into action in 2010, when Narendra Modi prepared recommendations for all fifty temples under the Somnath Temple Trust. Based on these suggestions, four major projects were approved. Cleanliness was a key focus, with a full solid waste management system improving hygiene and reducing complaints. Parking facilities were expanded to ease congestion and improve the pilgrim experience. A seaside walkway was also developed. With financial support of forty crore rupees, an Ocean View Promenade and the Yatradham Tourist Facilitation Centre were created, allowing devotees to walk comfortably along the coast. A museum explaining India’s temple heritage was established, presenting eight major Hindu temple architectural styles and offering visitors insight into India’s architectural traditions. At the core of this approach remained a simple idea. Somnath is a sacred space of faith, and governance must ensure that devotees experience order, dignity, and spiritual fulfilment while performing darshan, puja, and rituals. By expanding the role of the temple beyond worship, Narendra Modi connects faith with historical understanding and helps people see how India’s present is linked to its long civilisational past.

𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗕𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘆𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘀: 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 #PravasiBharatiyaDivas was conceived to recognise the contribution of Indians living abroad and to strengthen their connection with the nation. It was designed as a platform where the global Indian community could engage meaningfully with India’s development priorities, while celebrating shared culture, identity, and responsibility. Throughout his public life, Narendra Modi has consistently emphasised the importance of the Indian diaspora in India’s progress. He has viewed Non-Resident Indians as partners in nation-building, capable of contributing through knowledge, investment, innovation, and global experience. As Chief Minister of Gujarat and later as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi actively reached out to overseas Indians, encouraging their participation in India’s economic and social development. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas serves as a structured forum to bring together ideas, expertise, and opportunities that support national growth. Under his leadership, engagement with the diaspora has focused on practical outcomes. Efforts have been made to connect global talent with India’s needs in areas such as entrepreneurship, technology, skill development, and social initiatives. The occasion reinforces the idea that Indians across the world continue to play an important role in shaping India’s future.

Once the pride of Ahmedabad, Kankaria Lake had slipped into neglect, losing both care and public connection. Long before holding office, Narendra Modi saw Kankaria as more than a lake, he imagined it as a shared cultural and civic space. As Chief Minister, he revived this vision, transforming Kankaria into a lively public destination. From this transformation emerged the Kankaria Carnival, a celebration that brought music, art, lights, and community together. The carnival turned the lakefront into a vibrant festival space, making Kankaria not just a place to visit, but a place to experience. Today, beautifully illuminated pathways, clean waters, open spaces, and joyful crowds define Kankaria. What was once neglected now stands as one of Ahmedabad’s most loved landmarks; alive, welcoming, and full of life. #KankariaCarnival2025

True legacy is measured by the leaders one prepares, not the power one holds. Balbir Punj, former Rajya Sabha MP, recalls that Atal Bihari Vajpayee viewed the BJP as a living organisation built on its karyakartas. Among the many leaders he nurtured, Vajpayee held deep respect for Narendra Modi as a disciplined organiser and selfless worker. Narendra Modi’s commitment to ideology, absence of personal ambition, and readiness to shoulder responsibility convinced Atal Bihari Vajpayee that he belonged to the generation meant to lead both party and nation.

In moments of national crisis, leadership is defined by clarity, courage, and trust between those at the helm. When unexpected calamities strike, what matters most is the clarity of judgment and the confidence shared between those entrusted with national responsibility. Ajay Bisaria, Personal Secretary to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recalls that on 26 January 2001, as a devastating earthquake struck Gujarat, the first alert came from Narendra Modi. Even before becoming Chief Minister, Modi quickly assessed the gravity of the situation, ensured PM Vajpayee was informed without delay, and later briefed him personally.

Great leaders are remembered not only for the decisions they took, but for the values they embodied and the future leadership they inspired. In India’s contemporary political history, the relationship between Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi stands as a rare example of such continuity, where trust, respect, and shared ideals quietly bridged generations. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was more than a Prime Minister. He was a guiding force, a moral anchor, and the father figure of Narendra Modi. His leadership style was marked by encouragement rather than command, by confidence rather than control. Importantly, Vajpayee always looked beyond the present, convinced that the future of the party and the nation lay in the next generation of committed leaders. Narendra Modi’s journey intersected with Vajpayee’s at crucial moments. Whether it was responding swiftly to national crises, respecting public systems over personal convenience, or expressing India’s strength through symbolism and restraint, their interactions reflected a shared understanding of governance rooted in service to the people. The accounts in this series, narrated by those who witnessed these moments closely, advisers, karyakartas, and colleagues, offer rare insights into how this bond evolved quietly, away from public spectacle. They reveal how Vajpayee recognised in Modi a disciplined organiser, a selfless worker, and a leader capable of carrying forward the party’s ideology without personal ambition. In turn, they show how Modi absorbed these values, honoured Vajpayee’s legacy, and translated that guidance into action. #AtalBihariVajpayee #AtalBihariVajpayeeJayanti
