60% of voters think it’s at least “somewhat likely” that hostile media inspired the latest assassination attempt on President Trump

MS NOW host Jonathan Capehart had a rough night on PBS last night. First, he didn't appreciate David Brooks pointing out progressives are more likely to support violence than conservatives, "I'm not going to just let the comment that, you know, progressives, you know, more than folks on the far-right are, you know, think that violence is justified."
He also portrayed the shooting as just another incident of common gun violence, "And, to me, the bigger issue here is gun violence, that why was I not surprised that this had happened? And I have been to that dinner at least a dozen times since 2000. And so, yes, there's an issue of, you know, people feeling that political violence is the way to go and that we are in a highly charged atmosphere. But what's been, sort of, a specter over all of us for even longer is the scourge of gun violence."

For “Local Reporting,” the @PulitzerPrizes awarded to the “staff of Chicago Tribune for its powerful coverage of the Trump administration’s militarized immigration sweep of the city that described, in vivid muscular prose, how the siege-like incursion of ICE agents unified Chicagoans in resistance.”
How many days since the News Apps published a single right-leaning outlet in their morning Top Stories?
Google News: 4 days
Yahoo News: 5 days
Apple News: 6 days
Lots of left-wing journalism won in @PulitzerPrizes announced this afternoon. “Investigative Reporting” went to the @NYTimes “for deeply reported stories that exposed how President Trump has shattered constraints on conflicts of interest and exploited the moneymaking opportunities that come with power, enriching his family and allies.”
First, Jake Tapper asked Jeanine Pirro about Tucker suggesting Trump is the Antichrist. She wasn't biting. Then he did special pleading for Jonah Goldberg, who said "Antichrist" is more incendiary than James Comey's "86 47." We can agree "Antichrist" is bigger than the usual Hitler stuff you hear on CNN (including today). But the comparison is meant to downplay Comey.
In my latest NewsBusters study, I tallied up the network evening news coverage of the DHS shutdown that finally ended on April 30 and what percentage mentioned Democrats were the cause of it by refusing to fund President Trump’s deportation agenda.
The ‘CBS Evening News’ spent only four percent (or 2 minutes) of its coverage (53 minutes, 24 seconds) on the shutdown and its effects (e.g. TSA lines) invoking Democrats. Here were a few of those rare examples:
CNN's Dana Bash accidentally admits, "in Virginia, Democrats voted to gerrymander their state" before catching herself and rephrasing it as "voters approved a Democratic plan to counter GOP gains across the country."
And the “Public Service” @PulitzerPrizes went to “the Washington Post for piercing the veil of secrecy around the Trump administration’s chaotic overhaul of federal agencies and chronicling in rich detail the human impacts of the cuts and the consequences for the country.”
TOMORROW: @TheMRC will be releasing the fifth annual Bulldog Award winners, spotlighting the best in conservative media across five categories: Columnist, Investigative Journalism, Podcast, Radio Host, Reporter, Social Media Personality, and Lifetime Achievement.
Any guesses?
