Just came across this (4/24). In a "Trump oppresses the media" list, MS NOW legal reporter Fallon Gallagher pitches Don Lemon as indicted for his "coverage in that anti-ICE protest in St. Paul," not mentioning they invaded and STOPPED a church service. "That was unprecedented, indicting journalists for doing their job. Earth to Fallon: If we invaded MS NOW and shut down "Chris Jansing Reports," you'd say that was a First Amendment violation, even if we were just "peppering you with questions" in the chaos.

Stacey Abrams claims the Trump admin is trying to “legalize the restoration of Jim Crow” by pushing election security measures like the SAVE America Act. This is false. Requiring proof of U.S. citizenship to register and photo ID to vote is not Jim Crow. It’s common sense.

In my latest NewsBusters study, I tallied up the network evening news coverage of the DHS shutdown that finally ended on April 30 and what percentage mentioned Democrats were the cause of it by refusing to fund President Trump’s deportation agenda. The ‘CBS Evening News’ spent only four percent (or 2 minutes) of its coverage (53 minutes, 24 seconds) on the shutdown and its effects (e.g. TSA lines) invoking Democrats. Here were a few of those rare examples:

It’s always a good time for a reminder on Lesley Stahl and one of the most brazen attempts at covering for the media’s preferred presidential candidate ever seen: Trump says of Joe Biden and the Hunter laptop: “He’s in the midst of a scandal." Last week, PolitiFact gave Trump a “Mostly True,” their first rating for the president on the True side for 524 days. In between, Trump received 21 “Pants On Fire” rants. By contrast, on the last day of April, PolitiFact found a Democrat on the “false” side for the first time in 2026. For the first four months of 2024, then the Republicans were rated “Mostly False” or worse in 29 of 44 fact checks (66 percent).
