This pan-African conference convenes key stakeholders to advance ADR as the continent’s preferred dispute resolution mechanism. The 2026 edition is held under the theme: “Reimagining and Positioning ADR as the Preferred Dispute Resolution Mechanism for Africa.” #GUMZO

The conference, titled Gumzo La Edyara, will promote practical use of mediation, arbitration and other ADR mechanisms in handling disputes affecting communities and businesses. #GUMZO

Happening Now: The Gumzo La ADR Conference is under way at Mestil Hotel and Residences, Kampala, Uganda. The name “Gumzo” originates from the Kiswahili word “Mazungumzo,” meaning dialogue.

The five-day gathering brings together ADR practitioners, judicial officers, academics, engineers, and professionals from across Africa, in partnership with CIArb Uganda Chapter, ICAMEK, CIArb Kenya Branch, and KIAC #GUMZO
