Never seen any theatre like it and will not stop thinking about this for some time… @sohoplacelondon I would have loved a Q&A afterwards

@HEWilliamsBooks I am now (on secondment) the same grade I had been when I went on mat leave - my twins just turned 10 🫤. Same situation with my husband as yours. I feel your pain 💯

7 years. 7 fucking years since I went on maternity leave and I am *still* not back where I was career-wise. Anyone want to guess how many promotions my husband has had in that time and whose pension is looking groovier? Anyone?

@SteveAndrews3 I really love this talk. I like to come back to it every few months too just to remind myself. ❤️

3 years ago today, my daughter had open heart surgery. She was 5. As I mum, I worried she would die. As a paediatrician, I was utterly helpless. I could remember the fear, the tears & terror, But instead, I remember Emma, the nurse who changed everything. A 🧵.

This is an extraordinary talk. So important for those in health and social care but also for all mortals as @drkathrynmannix describes us.

My talk on @TEDTalks has passed 500k views in under 3 weeks. I'm just getting my head around that. It seems that when we talk about dying with clarity & truth, the 'taboo' falls away. People really want to know more. I hope it consoles many more people. bit.ly/DyingTED

@SteveAndrews3 You've shown part of this to me before Steve. But just watching again. It's utterly brilliant. Useful to come back to again! So transferable to our work. Thank you!

@DanWuori This is gorgeous. My 9 year old twins can't tell who is who from older pictures of themselves. Whereas their younger sibling always knows who is who in the same photo. I've theorised they were most used to seeing the other twin's face than their own, so believe that's them!? 🤔

And you thought YOU had trouble telling them apart… 😀 I just love these little twins, who are busy developing a sense of self - both independently and as part of a duo. In reality, parents of multiples have little difficulty telling their children apart. Small physical differences are common, even among “identical” twins. And within hours and days, twins begin to distinguish themselves as individuals in ways that are easily identified by their parents. But how about the twins themselves? When and how do they differentiate themselves as individuals? First, it’s important to recognize that this question is hardly unique to multiples. ALL infants go through a period of self-discovery, gradually coming to the realization that they are independent human beings. The development of self awareness begins at birth - but often takes 15-18 months to emerge in full. The process can be slightly more complex for twins, who experience life - and are often addressed - as a unit. But have no fear. They’ll sort it all out. Parents of twins can help to foster this process by making sure to carve out individual time with each child and using their names (refraining, as much as possible, from collective labels like “the twins”).
