Was just talking with a few people on the team about how I think @heyrosieai could be great for ecom merchants and maybe we should hold our nose and build a Shopify integration. But this company is so hostile to app developers it just constantly reminds us of why we left in the first place.

UCHealth is a scourge to our state! I’ve had to fight them on multiple bills. I escalated to CO AG for one of them when they flat out told me they would not honor their contact with my insurance. In another case I had to resort to calling and berating them every 15min. On the 14th call they suddenly found a policy saying they could drop $8,000 off my bill insurance said I didn’t owe 🙄. To make things worse they use all that fraudulent money to buy up the competition and force us to deal with them over and over.

A remarkable thing happened today. @uchealth agreed to pay $23 million to make a federal case go away. Hospital giant insists it did nothing wrong. Case centered around how hospitals bill patients for ER visits. Codes: 99281-99285 A 🧵

My sister is in Black Mountain just to the east. She lost contact yesterday morning but regained service a couple times during the day. She said she was the only one in town she knew of that had any cell service at all. So if you’re not hearing from loved ones that’s likely why. Hope you hear from them soon!!

Been stewing on this for a couple days and can't help myself, I have to say something. This attitude – "I can't stand bedtime so I'll just stay at work" (substitute with whatever avoidance of whatever part of parenting) – is abhorrent. You created this person. Yes, parenting is hard. Maybe the hardest thing lots of us will do! But you signed up for this, and raising a human is, I believe, one of the most important things (maybe the most!) you'll do. Abdicating that responsibility is giving up on one of the most important things you'll do. "Oh but it's just bedtime, I just don't like that part!" Yeah, why's that? You can't just skip the hard parts. Those are the parts where your character and resilience as a parent is built, and those are the parts where your children see your character getting built... and that's what builds their character. It's ok to dislike some parts of parenting. But it's not ok to decide that you'll just... skip that part. Sure, maybe one parent is the primary person for that part. But opting out entirely? Bad, bad, bad. Bad for you, bad for your spouse, bad for your kids. Men, step up to the plate! Be a complete father! Do the hard parts, the tedious parts, the boring, thankless, drudgery. Also, bedtime? Bedtime is fucking awesome, you get to read to your kids! You should be reading to your kids as much as possible! Nurture a love of reading in them!

@JordanGal I hear you! Just like anything else try and find someone with rental history and good reviews. For all 3 of mine so far I’ve had great communication with the owner and Turo makes the process super easy.

@JordanGal In two weeks I have a C8 Corvette rented for my wife and I. For the 3 days it was only about $250 more than a Kia from Avis. Tough choice 😅!

@JordanGal Yep! Way nicer cars for the money. For our last family trip we got a higher trim Tahoe with leather and entertainment delivered to our hotel (late night flight). Was close to the same price as whatever vanilla minivan Enterprise had.

I was born on a Kibbutz in Israel. It’s as small and homogenous as it gets when it comes to socialist/communist experiments. It worked for one generation, maybe two. Believe me, it is *comically* at odds with human nature. See also: the entirety of 20th century history.

People really still out here debating capitalism vs Marxism. Ffs people capitalism is simply an admission of human’s nature. That’s why nothing else works.

The entitled elite is not mad that they have to pay $8/month. They’re mad that anyone can pay $8/month.

It is next to impossible to understand an NFT collection without buying. The buying process forces you to pay attention and see details which are very hard to digest as an outside observer. The brain acts differently when money is on the line.

@ShopifyDevs But then there is no way for me as an app developer to uninstall any automated theme changes when the merchant uninstalls. This leaves merchant's theme a mess after multiple apps have come through and left unused modifications 😢
