@GOtransitMI second day in a row that you have commuter rail cars that you can't even get on. What is the point of them? Just pack us all in more so we have to stand. With ridership increasing you need more trains and rail cars that work. #customerservicefail

Five years ago was a really dark period in Canadian history, and for me nothing epitomizes that period better than this clip of 21-year old Ocean Wiesblatt being arrested by 2 Calgary Police DEI hires. The "Officers" took him down (with a Taser drawn but not used), handcuffed him, and cut off his skates to remove him from the ice. He was charged with obstructing an officer (because he wouldn't provide his name), resisting arrest, and breaching public health orders. The sad thing about this whole period is that the majority of Canadians didn't learn anything. I am certain that this could happen again. Just look at what happened in Calgary in the summer of 2024. As a result of the Nenshi government's incompetence (I know Gondek was in power, but the problems pre-dated her), the city had a water line break that required major water usage restrictions. The city setup a snitch line, and it exploded with neighbours ratting each other out.

@outdoormantra1 Think you are missing the point, he still assaulted a police officer and didn't listen to them. You said earlier that you should listen and do what the police ask you do to. Also how do you know he got off? Are there certain situations where you listen and not listen to police?

@theobmf Read the news release. He got off as they never read him what the violation was. They instigated the confrontation and omitted information. He did give a fake name and was charged with that.

@outdoormantra1 What's the difference? Was the kid not resisting? They told him to get off the ice and everyone else did and then when asked to come over he resisted again and assaulted the officer and went back onto the ice. Officers had no idea if he was off his meds or had a knife on him.

@theobmf The issue is, she engaged with ICE illegally. She drove her vehicle into the middle of a legal operation then became hostile with her wife in tow. The kid in the video was not resisting but asking what he was doing wrong. He did not engage, they did. Huge difference.

@outdoormantra1 Okay. Guess we are allowed to have different opinions. Just like the kid in this video should have obeyed the police like the other 40 and his buddy did that were on the ice. As you said previous if police issue commands you should follow them.

@theobmf Your facts suck. She was told to “get out of the car” then when she did not comply, “get the fuck out of the car now”. He tried to open her door, she fled and stuck the officer. At least watch the videos before you start the shenanigans.

@theobmf They have no idea if she is dangerous, off her meds, armed or what level of threat she is. Clearly she was a threat as she failed to follow directions and used her vehicle as a weapon. We cannot tolerate this nonsense.

@theobmf @BY1959 Yes you can challenge the police, in court. That is the venue to challenge the police. If you flee you are evading arrest and a criminal. If you hit an officer with your vehicle while fleeing legal arrest, you are a danger to everyone.

@theobmf @BY1959 Again, that attitude is exactly what’s wrong with the world today. She knowingly drove into a situation to escalate it. When given commands to exit the vehicle, she chose to flee and struck an officer. This was 100% on her.
