The American food industry is a scam. You have to work twice as hard to be healthy/fit in the US. I hardly watch my diet overseas, eat mostly buffet style and exercise the same amount as I do at home and I immediately lose weight and my gut and skin health is much better.

@MikeAduddell That’s absolutely a fair statement. I am also a HUGE proponent of living in other countries if possible. Minds are opened through exposure to other cultures. Having lived in Asia and Eastern Europe, I can attest to the nutritional superiority of those areas.

@theoldman21 Definitely. The issue is it’s not the type of cuisine it is, it’s what’s in the ingredients. So even if you eat Japanese and Mediterranean food in the United States, generally known to be healthy, it still will not be as healthy as having it in another country.

@MikeAduddell As a fitness coach, I try to talk about breaking from the “American” diet as to my athletes as often as they will allow. I never gave this a 2nd thought until I began my fitness journey. Keep spreading the word Mike.

I’ve now lived multiple times for at least 2 months in Europe, China and Australia and it’s all the same. I feel good even with no dietary restrictions. In the United States I have to be extremely cautious with what I eat in order to feel how I feel overseas.
