Breaking my twitter silence to pay tribute to the legendary Roger Corman who passed on 9th May at the age of 98. A true giant of filmmaking who gave so many their start in the biz & brought so much cinematic joy during a 70 year career as producer, director & distributor.

We're excited to share that Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will have its World Premiere at this year’s @BFI London Film Festival! Directed by Sam Fell, The Mayor of London’s Gala will screen the film at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall and in cinemas across the UK on Saturday 14 October. Who's your fave?

Loved Jordan Peele's Nope - a joy to watch such a well constructed piece of genre cinema. A multi-layered script, that requires work from its audience, gorgeous cinematography & VFXs (with Close Encounters vibes) & superb acting - Daniel Kaluuya absolutely outstanding yet again!

Godland might be my favourite of the year so far. An intimate story on a vast canvas. It has a mythic edge, the weight of the landscape seeps into every part of the film, shaping the narrative & characters. It's beguiling & thought-provoking cinema. On at @wshed until 13th April.

I was watching Far North, starring Michelle Yeoh & Sean Bean, directed by Asif Kapadia, wondering, "why isn't this film better known?" Then the last 15 minutes happened and, boy, do I know now! Was not expecting that! Definitely not for everyone, but Yeoh's performance is great.

The whole family went to see Dungeons & Dragons and we all loved it. Loads of fun, never takes itself too seriously, plenty of spectacle & action, rattles along at good old pace... and the comedic genius of Hugh Grant was the cherry on top for me. Screening everywhere now.
