People can you shouldn't tank ... BUT the Commanders and Patriots benefitted in a very big way for being very, very bad in 2023, and the Bears benefitted from Carolina doing the dirty work for them that fall.
The trick in the NFL is more being bad in the right year (like 2023).
I know others will feel differently, but I really dislike international soccer.
Outside of the World Cup, I just don't care.
I really dislike that it is so disruptive to the club season, breaking up the momentum and flow of the season. As we have seen far too often, injuries suffered there can have massive ramifications for the club team.
Even as entertainment it is just not as good. The lack of cohesion and practice time makes it a lower-quality version; the stakes of a big tournament can compensate for this, but when it is most of what happens during these breaks that isn't there, and it is often just not worth watching.

@YankeeGunner@clivepafc Is Martinelli getting unwarranted criticism? Saka has White overlapping and Odegaard always in the vicinity giving him all kinds of options. Even Havertz drifts right. Martinelli is on an island. His options are limited to beating someone 1v1 or passing backwards.
I understand the concern about Calafiori being up against Elanga, but I really don't think there's much chance he starts wednesday. I just assume Timber will play LB and white will return to the lineup.
I understand why there’s some anxiety atm. But aside from a ref disaster we should be on 9pts with minimum fuss, including a win at villa. I think largely we’re fine. Going to spurs without merino & rice doesn’t help the mood understandably. That’s a big lineup decision for Mikel
