Reminder: LCWRA are Not jobseekers. Gov isn't supposed to be making them engage with work, its not a condition of getting the award. They've been assessed by the DWP as having 'Limited capacity to engage with work or work related activity' due to severe illness/ disability/risk.
happy to report i am currently shadowbanned so if you’re seeing my tweets in any capacity currently that means you truly are special lmao… gonna enjoy this void for the amount of time i have it… missed my lil void real bad
So damn wiped out.
Chronic fatigue doesn’t just make you “tired.” It eats your day in slow motion.
You wake up already exhausted.
Basic tasks cost hours of recovery.
Plans disappear before they even begin. You end up on the couch wondering wtf happened to your life while the world moves on without you.
People don’t see the fight just to stay upright.
And they’ll still say: you’re not trying hard enough.
i think it’s okay to enjoy things when the world around you is terrible. it’s actually incredibly important to have something to look forward to, something to bring you joy. hope is literally vital.
One way to explain the lack of energy with chronic illness(es) is The Spoon Theory. But another way I could describe it is all the breaks I need. When I was healthier I didn’t need a break after:
A phone call
Writing a text/email
Making a decision
Taking a shower
Eating a meal
Getting dressed
Etc
It can be very frustrating needing so many breaks but with the fatigue that often comes with chronic illness(es), you can’t help it.
if you’re new to twitter, we have one very important rule here…
if you see someone sharing good news or celebrating, you celebrate with them. even if you don’t know them. and it’s the best part of this whole app.
@silverpebble I have a single snowdrop in a planter in my garden. Always brightens my day to see it. I've got daffodil and bluebell tips poking up through my grass too!
In case you’re stuck indoors, feeling low or anxious or there’s big snow where you are, here are hundreds of snowdrops (also called Candlemas bells) in a hedgerow & gentle winter sun (& a car, sorry) I filmed on 3rd Feb last year. Leave a comment if you’re a fan of these little flowers

People demonise disabled people on benefits without understanding:
🔹 disability limits earning capacity
🔹 many of us want to work but can’t safely
🔹 “part-time” and/or remote work isn’t always possible
🔹 benefits barely cover basics
🔹 illness doesn’t wait for paydays
🔹 society isn’t accessible
🔹 disabled people have costs able-bodied people don’t have
Benefits aren’t luxury.
They’re survival.
You need to be slowmaxxing. You need to be reading long, fat books. You need to be making 48-hour chocolate chip cookies. You need to spend hours watching wildlife, you need to spend 15+ min making your coffee. You need to breathe in and breathe out. You need to be slowwwwwwwwww.
What many abled people don’t understand is that most disabilities are “hidden” - you can’t visibly see it.
Just because someone does not “look” disabled, it doesn’t mean they’re not.
Don’t confuse your tired with my fatigue:
🔹 I don't get restorative sleep
🔹 I have to choose the elevator over the stairs
🔹 I have to rest after taking a shower
🔹getting out of bed is difficult, daily
🔹 I have trouble concentrating and focusing
🔹 I feel like I have weights holding me down
🔹 simple tasks are not simple for me
EVERYTHING is exhausting

Super unpopular opinion:
We would see a lot less mental health issues if people had secure housing, food in the fridge, and bills were paid.
Believing money doesn't have an impact on mental health is a privilege.
@dave_mcpartlin@AndyBurnhamGM Me as a 34 y/o, with my husband 31, sister and bro-in-law both 39 at family Christmas watching my Dad 81½ (he insists on the ½) and Mum 68 both on their phones constantly! Way way more than any of us "kids". It's a problem for real.
@AndyBurnhamGM I'd like to think that most people would agree on the harm of social media to children, but children are watching adults who can’t put their phones down either. This isn’t just a kids problem - it’s an even more serious culture & wider society problem that we must try to address.
I find myself agreeing with a lot of what Kemi Badenoch is saying about children and social media. It seems to me parents would welcome a cross-party consensus around much bolder action.
As millions struggle to afford daily life, Government departments are being told to redirect £1.8bn from essential services to fund state surveillance and control via Digital ID.
