Why would it be pointless to debate something as important as the deity of Christ? 1. YHWH is eternal. 2. YHWH is the only creator. 3. Christ is the creator. 4. Therefore, Christ is the only creator. (from 2 + 3) 5. Therefore, Christ = YHWH. (from 2 + 4, or directly from 2 + 3) This is deductively valid. The only way out for the Unitarian is to deny the premises. The problem is that the Evidence for the premises is solid: 1. YHWH is eternal. Isaiah 40:28 “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.” Here, YHWH is called the “everlasting God” (Olam` in Hebrew), directly tying His eternal nature to His role as Creator. 2. YHWH is the only creator. Isaiah 44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, "I, the LORD, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth all alone, 3. Christ is the creator. Colossians 1:15-17 (See also John 1:1-12 & Hebrews 1) “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Arian Unitarians generally focus on 2, while adoptionist Unitarians on 3.

This perfectly sums up how Trinitarians have effectively cropped the Father out of the picture of true worship of God. A sad outcome given that one of the centerpieces of Christ’s mission was to make the Father known. John 17:26
