Bitcoin's network effect, hash rate, historical price? Can you hear yourself? Why do you even get out of bed? Just a reminder that crypto exists within a broader macro liquidity and speculative landscape…irrespective of how LTC is undervalued relative to BTC, both can be overvalued from an absolute basis.

Silver is not inferior. It's only the contemporary lens that might suggest that (but it doesn't imo). Just pick any time throughout history and you'll find that many times it was either the primary medium of exchange or on equal footing to gold - Lydia (7th century bc), ancient Greece, the Persian empire, the Roman Republic/Empire, Byzantine Empire/caliphates, the Carolingian Empire (Charlemagne), the Holy Roman empire and on and on it goes. This inferiority is pure fiction (and incorrect projection).

I am the silver version of digital value scarcity. I am a fully decentralized ledger of transactions. I am divisible but unconquerable. I am Litecoin.

@zelinarxy Try asking the same for LTC, except Pt 1 is a non-issue, privacy layer optional. Pt2 is a non-issue, as it works and has always worked. If pt 3 isn’t valid, then that applies equally to Bitcoin. So then…what naturally does it imply about pt 4?

monero is worth $4.3b. this seems completely incomprehensible to me. is it: - no one needs or wants privacy - monero doesn’t work (and the market knows it) - secret third reason it’s borderline worthless - the market is wrong and zxy capital should accelerate $xmr acquisiton ??

@_BigFad Sorry but that is a poor analogy as the properties of silver is inferior to gold hence price differential. Litecoin is not inferior to Bitcoin.

Haven’t done this in a minute, but let’s break it down: Right now, silver is $32.50 and gold is $2820. The ratio between the two is roughly 87:1. But with Bitcoin at $105k and Litecoin at $128, the ratio between Bitcoin and Litecoin is about 820:1. That’s a MASSIVE difference. If Litecoin were to ever match the ratio of silver to gold, it’d be over $1,100. That’s the potential here. It just makes sense. Amazing take, can’t fault it

And looking at the price action of both Litecoin and the broader market is why I don’t talk about price — as it’s largely driven by flows and liquidity in the short term. In the longer term, I do hope cooler heads prevail.

I don’t really concern myself with the price of Litecoin. All it matters is that the relative value to Bitcoin must close over time, either both down to zero or both up to infinity. It may not be imminent, but sure will be inevitable.
