@DrDavidRouse @tingdan There is some evidence showing NC @ 15L can improve ET O2 when Pre Oxygenating with NRB or BVM (if mask leak present) ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/26747…. Newer article show CPAP + NC non-inferior to CPAP alone. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/30037…. I say put em on during Pre Ox. Leave em on for Ap Ox.

Apneic oxygenation has staunch and very vocal supporters on #FOAMed. The current evidence may not quite match the fervour. While the downsides are relatively few, the primary one is probably interference with mask seal. Preoxygenation is more important than apneic oxygenation.
