I sponsored my nephew from 100 level to final year. Even during his NYSC, I was still sending him allowance. Thankfully, he got a job immediately after service. I was genuinely happy for him. I didn’t want to seat at the middle, I came down so she could seat at the middle, only for her to stare at me from head to toe, then sat at the edge not willing to adjust. I didn’t say a word, I just bounced for another keks!!!

Sometime last year, me and one of my guys closed work the same day. Both of us were tired, hungry, and broke till alert drops. Salary entered that night. Next day, I saw him with new sneakers. Clean pair. No doubt. He said, “Bro, you gats enjoy small. Life no hard reach that level.” I laughed. No problem. That same week, he sent money to 3 people, went out twice, ordered food almost every night. By the 18th… guy don dey complain. “Na this country be the problem.” Meanwhile, nothing spectacular on my side. I just did the boring things: Paid what I needed to pay. Saved small. Put some into my small business. No flex. No pressure. End of the month, he was counting days to next salary. I wasn’t rich, but at least I wasn’t stranded. That’s when it clicked for me: It’s not always about how much you earn… na how you handle the small you get. Because if money no get plan, it will disappear like say you never work for it.
