I honestly feel like a lot of the music coming from this new generation of artists and producers lacks a clear identity. There was a time when you could hear just the bassline of a song from a distance and instantly recognize it. Tracks like Busybody by P-Square, Gongo Aso by 9ice, or Bumper 2 Bumper by Wande Coal had such distinct sonic signatures that they were impossible to mistake. The same applied to producers, you could immediately tell who was behind a record just by the sound. A beat from Don Jazzy, for example, carried a unique combination of drum patterns, basslines, and musical textures that made his work instantly recognizable. So what really changed? Did technology dilute the essence of real music production? #musicindustry #Militant

Nurses, what cannula size are you using ?

i hate pointless drum rolls and “kpa kpa” fills in songs. just giving me headache for no reason

I don't post beats, because I know the game. 👇 Publicly posting your music on social media is publishing. You just used your Right of First Release and Now, the "compulsory mechanical license" rule kicks in and you also lose the Financial Leverage of first use.

Which Nigerian album is the afrobeats version of 50 Cents ‘Get rich or die tryin’ in terms of cultural relevance and impact ??

Your odds of meeting Don Jazzy, Sunday Are, or Alexa Perkins are under 2% in your lifetime. Real leverage comes from consistently networking with artistes, songwriters, producers, and executives operating on your level. Don’t underestimate what your mates can do for you.

As a recording artist, if you could explain one overlooked role (engineers, A&Rs, marketers) in shaping a hit record, what would it be?

Define your MUSIC taste with just 4 artists.

You don’t discover your sound by copying what’s working.

music is art music is therapy music is language music is spiritual music is life… what is music to you?
