The movies are loved and are going to be extraordinarily difficult to top or even match BUT this looks really well made and not like it’s a cheaper downgrade from the movies.

@proudzeglian Yes it is. They are already talking about having Hermoine end up with Harry for one, couple that with changing characters that have been described in detail in the books its not hard to see where it goes. They have an ample of canon book material they could add into this series.

The HUGE difference between the Star Wars sequels and this series is that the Star Wars sequels never had a real plan regarding the overall story of the trilogy Here they have the entire story laid out and they are probably gonna follow it even more closely than the movies did

I’m sorry, but this is just ridiculous. Race swapping Snape and most of the students, including Hermione, completely kills the immersion in HBO’s Harry Potter show. Snape was written as a thin, greasy haired man with a pale, sneering face. Turning the story into one about racism destroys its internal themes, and ruins the story. This show was over for me the moment it chose tokenism over staying faithful to the books.
