One of the biggest problems of our time is people believing they deserve to live off the productivity of other people.

No man wants his kids to have it less than he did. They will do everything to leave their kids with a better life. Yet collectively we do the opposite. We expect our children to pay for stuff we want now by sacrificing their future. This is the most cowardly act.

@sophielouisecc If you cover someones living costs so they don't have to sell their assets, that is directly equivalent to giving them assets. There is no such thing as "poor but asset rich". If you have a million quid house, you're rich - end of.

I agree with her. We should take that £9 million and apply it to uplifting pensions this year. Thats how much it costs, right?

I am all for cutting benefits, and would have a moratorium on claims by foreign nationals. But, for the love of God, can we please stop pretending that that would solve our fiscal problems.
