@mikewichter Where I played in college we were all about the little things. Walks, HBP, bunting, stealing bases, base hit bunting. Really old school. My coach played for Eddie Stanky. Sprint on and off the field. Run out every ground ball. Break up a double play. GET OFF MY LAWN lol

@therealscottyj How many times in little league did we hear "a walm is as good as a hit"? Now all these years later, mlb teams have embraced this philosophy

@mikewichter Rice's '78 season is an all timer. Led AL in about 10 categories. 7.6 WAR. 213 hits. 46 HR's 25 2B's, 15 3B's 139 RBI and hit .315 Now they'd criticize him b/c he only walked 58 times

@therealscottyj Funny thing is, as a red Sox fan, we used to watch slow teams full of right handed power hitters. Now they have guys all over the lineup who can steal a base.

@mikewichter That's the one thing I can live with because it was an automatic out. But I like double switches and the strategy of it all. Basketball the same everybody just shoots 3's. Give a 12 foot jumper or the old sky hook.

@therealscottyj I like getting rid of the pitcher hitting. I always found national league baseball silly. But yes, overall, analytics have harmed baseball and helped football (in terms of excitement)

@mikewichter I'd much rather watch Omar Moreno, Vince Coleman, Gerald Young and Willie Wilson on the bases or hit triples than a guy who hits 25 HR's and K's 175 times

@therealscottyj Meanwhile analytics has made football more exciting. More passing. Less painting and field goals. More going for it on 4th down.

@mikewichter Baseball was a game everyone could find a role on good teams. Couldn't hit. Play defense (Mark Belanger). Couldn't play great defense out hit your deficiencies (Manny/Jeter). Eddie Stanky just got on base on the old Giants/Dodgers teams. That really doesn't exist anymore

@mikewichter I just like the ball to move. Striking out used to be embarrassing now guys K 200 times and hit .200 and hit 30 HR's they've had a great year. I liked guys hitting .330-.350 and striking out 50 times all year.

Trump's Iran war is costing the U.S. economy 10,000 jobs per month, according to a new Goldman Sachs report.

Trump pardoned 77 people this week that stole from Medicare. This flew under the radar. I believe Trump is selling pardons which is enough to send Trump away.

Louisiana is ranked 1st in Poverty and 48th in education, fyi.

There are still all these national guard troops standing around DC. This is, among other things, a tremendous waste of money.
