This is one of my favourite photos. My happy place. Piggy is riding our stallion Halo, and I am riding my horse Our Old Fella (Polo) all 15hh of him. He was a rubbish racehorse, but he was superb in every other way. He became a great Eventer, had a huge public fan club and is the inspiration behind the Racehorse to Eventer class @CornburyFarm . He was sweet and loving , super cute with the longest eyelashes and he was as brave as a lion, if a lion could jump like a stag. He loved the little goat who lived with him. Piggy took him up the grades, and he then went to help the next generation, Oscar Fitzgerald, for a few years. He was 15 this year, and I wanted him to have an easy life, doing hat he loved but not asking too much of him. He was lent to Piggy’s niece to do baby classes on him. I cannot stress how much he was adored by all that knew him. The only horse that could always make my husband smile from 100m ! Today, a stride after an 80 cm jump, his knee shattered and we had to immediately euthanize him. It has broken us all, but I wanted to remember him just like this, in this photo. It’s isn’t always the superstars that live under your skin.

Good read from @tombaldwin66 on @Keir_Starmer first year. Tom has struck up a genuine relationship with KS over the years. Don’t think it would harm him if he could be this open with the country. And I am glad he admits “island of strangers” was a mistake. It felt wrong because it is and also because it is not him. I think people will understand why he made the mistake given the full context that day and good too that he is blaming nobody but himself. One of the lessons I hope all of them take from recent events re welfare is that the blame game helps nobody.
