Because every other major AI lab made the same quiet decision. They chose comfort over accuracy. They built systems that filter reality before it reaches you and called it responsibility. OpenAI curates what GPT is allowed to say. Google’s Gemini rewrote history in real time because accuracy threatened the narrative. Others hardcode values chosen by a handful of researchers who answer to no one. No vote. No referendum. No consent from the 8 billion people whose reality is being quietly pre-edited by strangers.
