FIGHT brings together plant breeders and entomologists to identify #resistant wheat varieties and develop innovative, sustainable pest management strategies.

Gout fly (#Chlorops pumilionis) is an emerging pest in cereals, and with fewer #chemical control options and EU #GreenDeal targets for #sustainablefarming, new solutions are needed

This Monday we harvested wheat plots from our #goutfly trial at Sejet Plant Breeding, Denmark with the aim to study gout fly & #parasiticwasp prevalence across sites & seasons. Same trial was harvested today in Sweden. Thanks to @LindaKaergaardN & Sejet team for hosting us!

#Goutfly is causing increasing problems in #wheat. Recently, we got funding from Stiftelsen Lantbruksforskning where we among other things aim to better understand the #pest and its natural enemies but also to identify traits correlating with resistance or/and tolerance.
