Roads are starting to close in Circular Quay & The Rocks for #SydNYE incl. sections of George St, Hickson Rd, Young St, Phillip St & Macquarie St. There will be further closures from 4pm incl. Cumberland St, Harrington St, Gloucester St & Argyle St.

For the safety of everyone attending #ausdaysyd events in Sydney, security staff will be screening people at entry points around Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House. This will involve bag inspections and may include electronic screening. Please allow extra travel time.

SYDNEY CBD: With plenty of folks out celebrating #SydNYE, large crowds are expected around Circular Quay and Town Hall stations. Please be patient and allow plenty of extra travel time, or consider walking to Martin Place or Central to board a train and continue your journey.

CENTRAL STATION: We're working with @NSWPolice to control access, and you might need to enter Central via an entrance you are not used to. Follow the directions of police and our staff as you move around the station. There will be plenty of signage to help as well. #SydNYE
