Players were not invited to ask the bosses questions about Alex Cora’s firing and the situation.
“They made it very clear that we get paid to play baseball and we need to just focus on playing baseball,” Whitlock said.
Tim Healey@timbhealey
Garrett Whitlock said neither John Henry nor Sam Kennedy spoke during the meeting with players this morning. He said Craig Breslow spoke for about 2 minutes and Chad Tracy talked for 3-5 minutes.

For @MorePerfectUS: why John Henry makes more money when the Red Sox lose versus when they’re a championship team

Another rough Roman Anthony throw. x.com/BarnHasSpoken2…

🚨 New Episode 🚨
As Spring Training begins, @IanCundall and @MikeAndrewsSP discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the current MLB roster.

@BOSSportsGordo I mean yeah if you believe the bs and propaganda it all sounds great
English

@TheRumSmuggler Fair. Trusting what they say is a whole different conversation. But at face value, he didn’t say anything fans should be upset about here.
English

Controversial opinion here? Don’t have a problem with anything Werner said. It’s different than Sam saying Bregman didn’t wanna be here.
1. Good that he spoke.
2. Of course he wanted their $300M man to play 1B when Casas went down. We all did! Not absolving the org of wrongdoing, of course they messed it up.
3. Said they don’t have a policy against NTC’s. Good to hear if it’s the truth!
4. Said they have room to add $$ midseason 👍
I know the default is to think everything they say is bad. But don’t think any of what he said was bad!

@tylermilliken_ A disaster every time he steps up to the mic

Another tone deaf press conference from Sam Kennedy. Nothing too surprising there. Just shifting all their mistakes on the Alex Bregman front to his camp. Then they claim they should’ve done a better job communicating with Rafael Devers, but reiterate it’s a 2-way street.
Bring on the baseball. My head hurts.

@redsoxstats We’re leading the league in HBP next year at least
English

@BOSSportsGordo Wong, Yoshida, Romy, Eaton is the bench?
English

Sox aren’t paying IKF $6M to sit on the bench when they already have Romy/Hammy/Sogard all in the org and with options. He’s their second bat.
Gordo@BOSSportsGordo
Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s deal with the Red Sox is for $6M, according to @ChrisCotillo.
English

@JustinMLB Let this be a lesson for all the kids out there who let being bad at baseball prevent them from making millions
English

@JustinMLB @SPChrisHatfield Lack of options and a warm body sadly
English

@SPChrisHatfield The move in itself doesn’t even make sense other than the fact that he’s a RHH. His defense doesn’t jump off of the page and he’s a first percentile batter. I don’t get it.
English

@ColeyMick Maybe bad players no one wants is the new market inefficiency
English

The Red Sox needed a righty hitting infielder and could use a proven defender, but if this is the last move the club makes to bolster its position player group it'll be pretty disappointing.
Jeff Passan@JeffPassan
Infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa and the Boston Red Sox are in agreement on a one-year contract, sources tell ESPN.
English

Assuming the Red Sox are getting some salary relief here. That’s why Sandlin is going.
Tyler Milliken@tylermilliken_
The Red Sox are dealing Jordan Hicks and David Sandlin to the White Sox, per @JeffPassan.
