A lot of writers struggle with receiving feedback because despite what they claim, they want to be AFFIRMED, not INFORMED.

@ChefPleasure69 @THEHORRORGOTH Wonka was a major box office success and if I’m honest I really hated it. Not because I compared it to the original (which is a masterpiece) but I just didn’t love the storytelling, nor the acting.

can we admit it now? The days of movie stars carrying the box office purely on name recognition are gone..

@thesbscribe @RealEmirHan Had there been nothing to expose, then thematically there’s no purpose including an entire subplot demonstrating the sexual proclivities of elites. This film is a soft disclosure, veiled in a book adaptation. Many over analyze the lesser and avoid what you call “fantasy”

@TheMovieMermaid I give him a bit of slack. We’ve all been there. Thought we were changing the world at a young age. He doesn’t have the benefit of having watched “save the world” films come out for years while the world crumbles. I say let him roll with it. He’ll get there eventually.

It’s not Timothee’s confidence that’s off putting it’s “don’t take it for granted” as if millions of people in middle America just trying to survive every day will somehow be saved by his performance. This is why people who get famous later in life are more humble and likable.

Tis the key question. The Ellisons can offer however much $$ they want. They control their company. Netflix isn't a controlled company, which gives its shareholders more sway to oppose a bidding war.
