All at Reading Football Club are devastated to hear the news of the passing of former Chief Scout, Steve Shorey. Joining the club in 2005 as Academy Chief Scout, Steve was instrumental in the careers of the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Alex Pearce, Jem Karacan and Michael Hector. Promoted to First-Team Chief Scout in 2010 under Brian McDermott, Steve remained an integral part of the Royals Family until 2020. Our thoughts are with Nicky, the entire Shorey family and all of Steve's friends.

To have a stand at Wembley named after me is something I never could have imagined and feels incredibly emotional. What happened outside Luton that day was instinct. Dave needed help and I just did what I hoped anyone else would do in that moment. Knowing that story is now being used to encourage more people to learn CPR is hugely important to me because it shows that ordinary people really can save lives. Football brings communities together like nothing else and if the Every Minute Matters campaign inspires even one more person to step forward confidently in an emergency, then it will have made a real difference. Once again, humbled to have been involved in the #EveryMinuteMatters campaign. The @the_bhf and @skybet have worked so hard on this, and are changing lives. The statistics are still terrifying less than 1 in 10 people survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest, but immediate CPR can more than double a persons survival chances. Every minute without CPR and early defibrillation reduces the person’s chance of survival by 10%. So every minute really does matter. Incredible to meet the others involved and hear their stories - and a big thank you to Tom Lockyer for being a brilliant ambassador as always. Please take a look on the British Heart Foundation website, locate the RevivR tool and take 15 minutes to learn CPR at home. You might just save a life. @TheTilehurstEnd Don't think you can score higher than 3. Whilst off the pitch it's hard to knock them for what they are/claiming to do. Reality is 98% of fans care about the on-pitch product, which has regressed massively IMO since they arrived. #ReadingFC

@TheTilehurstEnd It's hit and miss. Smacks of trying to do too much too soon and trying to force things (fireworks etc). Overall though they are trustworthy enough

@TheTilehurstEnd I gave them a 3. Possibly a little harsh as they have been true to their word. They have invested both on and off the field. They have provided much needed security. All of which is commendable. However the ultimate test is on the field and in this respect we have gone backwards.

@TheTilehurstEnd I think they're actually doing a great job. However, my opinion is that they've got one of the most important decisions wrong in appointing Leam.

@TheTilehurstEnd I like what they’re doing overall with most things and the communication is refreshing. Saying the unhappiness over the style under Leam is not important risks undermining all the amazing work they’re doing though as people come to football for the game not the things around it.

@TheTilehurstEnd It’s seems it’s really easy to forget just how close we came to losing our club. I’m just grateful to be in the position to be ranting about crappy play on the pitch after that nightmare.
