If you are unsure about Mouthcare for your NBM patients, or concerned about harming your patient, ask for support from your nursing, SLT or dentist colleagues. Patients who are NBM are particularly at risk of dry, sore mouths #MDTApproach #EveryMouthCounts

If you are concerned about patient hypersensitivity impacting on Mouthcare, request a referral to Speech & Language Therapy. SLT can implement desensitisation programs if appropriate #MDTApproach #EveryInterventionCounts 🪥🦷👄

How many of our trache care home residents have had a dental review in the last 3 years? Our recent audit revealed the number = 0! Local Special Care Dentistry units accept refs for complex patients + provide much needed dental review 🦷🪥 @thetracheteam #EveryMouthCounts
