The Met went from refusing to accept a gift of pottery from Korea until they found out that BTS would attend and RM would give a speech to actively collecting and exhibiting more Korean art. He's changed the world in so many ways, big and small

“Everybody hears the story that they wanna” This line in itself is very self explanatory. It express how public perception works and the narratives are never neutral, it is biased. People choose the version of the story that helps reaffirm the version that confirms what they already believe. “쟤넨 이거 땜에 떴어, 내가 맞어” "This is how they made it, trust me” This line sarcasm directed at how confidently people reduce years of persistence into one convenient explanation. There is always someone claiming they know "BTS's formula" for success as if their journey can be reverse engineered. The irony is that the people who speak with the most certainty are often the ones furthest removed from the struggle. The "trust me" is cherry on top expressing they don't have proofs so they will tell you to just trust them. “We just big boys, a.k.a. 촌놈” (“country boys”), The word 촌놈 carries a dismissive tone someone unsophisticated, someone from outside the cultural center, someone underestimated. Reclaiming it reframes the narrative: yes, we came from nowhere, no elite networks, and still made it. “그냥 뭐 기세지 just shut up, shut up” “We just faked it till we made it, just shut up, shut up” When outsiders cannot fully understand the grind, they label it as luck, timing, or pretending confidence. “fake it till you make it” here is survival. Sometimes belief has to come first for survival. The repetition of “shut up” feels like exhaustion from constantly being told a fake version of their journey that is not true to make their efforts look less.

Kim Hyo Eun, a curator at SFMOMA, explained, “The exhibition follows RM’s personal artistic journey, exploring universal themes such as home and people. It will demonstrate how art can permeate a person’s life and change the way they perceive the world.” #RMxSFMOMA

Taste is eventually a record of what keeps us living. Loving this feature by @/taste.explore.mag. It reminds us that behind the headlines, there’s a sincere artist who survived through his love for art and music. It makes me cry coz cherry blossoms are in bloom now in korea and the fact that these flowers symbolize beauty, renewal, and impermanence are in perfect timing of come over being shared and how it's about starting over in connection and relationships

“I listened to the entire song, and it feels like what BTS want to say is this: they have moved past the stage of simply feeling dazed and bewildered by their position at the center of fame and controversy, and now they seem to be trying to accept it as something inevitable. And along with that, they must also have felt the pressure of having to deliver performances worthy of that position. After COVID and the military period, BTS’s stature, both in Korea and abroad, suddenly became enormous. At the same time, they were repeatedly in the news because of various incidents that had never happened before. The issue is whether they ever really had a chance to speak about what it felt like to become global stars, the confusion, the bewilderment, the gratitude. After all, singers are supposed to speak through their songs. If they filled the lyrics only with wandering and confusion, people would probably call that arrogance. But if they simply kept doing exactly what they had always done, they are no longer in that place. They have already become almost alien-like beings. And for this to be just another comeback, just a return with some new image, there is already far too much resting on their shoulders. Now they themselves have to break the shell that the world, under the name BTS, has built around them. But when they actually try to break it, it turns out to be an intangible illusion. And if they go on without breaking it, it seems they cannot say anything at all. So what comes out are Swim, about a life that can do nothing but keep moving forward, and Merry Go Round, about the difficult emotions that arise while living that life. And then there are the hip-hop elements and the lyrical elements the fans want…or rather, not exactly what the fans want, but everything they themselves have done well. It feels like they wanted to gather all of that together and present the music they prepared as a kind of all-in-one gift set. Maybe, because even they have no precise way to explain their current position and circumstances, they returned to reflect on the identity of their beginnings. What I hear in it is not a confession about a linear world, a future, or a universe with a fixed destination ahead, but a confession that in this ongoing voyage of endlessly crossing waves, the only thing they have with them is you, the compass. What seems clear to them now is only this: you, who were there with them at the beginning. As for what lies ahead, perhaps their path forward will simply become whatever path they continue walking, like the heart of a navigator. On the open sea, a map has no meaning. The only thing that helps is the compass.”

After listening to the Album, I want to point out the distinctive appeal of yoongi’s rap that lies in his masterful ability to modulate flow and tone, allowing his delivery to align seamlessly with lyrical structure and rhyme schemes. His transitions between rhythms are precise and dynamic, contributing to a highly engaging and fluid listening experience. In addition to his rap technique, his vocal abilities have shown significant development. His range and versatility have expanded noticeably, and his singing voice often characterized as soft and emotionally resonant adds a unique dimension to his artistry. This combination of technical control and expressive nuance underscores his growth as a well-rounded performer.

That's actually one of the reasons why a lot of things are happening right now. Nobody wants to read anything anymore. Not even on their faves. A lot of discourse would be avoided if people actually read things that are available instead of whining about everything
