I just came across an article that states Meta is planning on charging $14 per month to access ad free content on Instagram/Facebook. Leave your thoughts below marketers… www-cnbc-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.cnbc.c…

Making progress on the new version of @mtrainierwatch and learning lots of liquid in the process.
Tis a beautiful thing.

@leocousineau Looking forward to seeing. Just followed you on the gram

@leocousineau Personally I’m a fan of red and black. But it doesn’t matter when you are stepping on the gas 🚗 💨 🔥

English

@leocousineau Matte black exterior with paint protection film and carbon fiber accents. Gold brake calipers and interior accents. Tint front and rear lights and windows. Purchase night vision goggles. Call it a day. 😎🥷

@TuckerArbrah @ZohaibRattu I’ve almost purchased by accident it’s so easy and quick. Impulse buying through emotional triggers is going to a brands obsession. There is going to be a whole science involving psychological strategy in order to convince people to purchase products. Especially on live streams.
English

@ZohaibRattu @thewillmauro yeah it’ll probably slow down but a majority of customers still buying without any discounts
customer friendly integration built into the system is too good for viewers not to buy

Could TikTok Shops’ early success just be temporary because of the subsidized discounts?
Would brands really be or should be giving away product at up to 50% off?
All I’ll say is this.
When I was developing a pay-via-text product back in 2020 we had a similar strategy to acquire initial users + to vault their credit cards for a quick reply to buy purchase. We’d subsidize the brand or negotiate a free gift (which we fronted the cost to buy the inventory for, sometimes spending 100K+) to cover the product. We saw a lot of early success. We saw first time reply to buy rates of over 60%+.
But here’s the thing. Consumers love free stuff (or nearly free stuff). Once the products went back to full price and we were trying to sell to these users again, the pay via text responses just disappeared. We would maybe scrape by a .05%-.1% conversion rate if anything.
We found that for almost every campaign for pay via text we sent, sms fees ended up costing more than the revenue earned for the products sold.
That’s why pay via text isn’t as much spoken about anymore (except for onetext but I’m still waiting to see data on if the product really is successful, I haven’t heard too much from the space about it yet but from personal experience pay via text was an L. They may have figured it out but I have 0 clue).
As a product guy, I’m not super bullish on this approach for user adoption/acquisition since the reported numbers ends up being misleading. Telling businesses to use your new product feature because businesses are generating 20% more sales on products while being temporarily subsidized by almost 50% of the cost from a behemoth like TikTok is kind of sus.
If you’re using TikTok shops and are finding it to be a huge success, let’s chat!

@ZohaibRattu It’s going to make a major impact since all product roadmaps have led to this for all these social channels and it took a decade to get to this point. It has taken about 4-5 years for these companies to build out the infrastructure. Live video commerce is the next wave 🌊
English

@thewillmauro It's a bet for sure - we'll see - I'm monitoring it - luckily a few brands allowed me to watch their progress!
English

@Conniesends @ZohaibRattu True, something has to give on that front. It’s a catch-22 situation. If brands don’t play the game then they miss out on the opportunity. Unfortunately, these platforms have data control but I think that will change eventually. It’s very early days in grand scheme of things.
English

@thewillmauro @ZohaibRattu idk will.. long term customer growth is hard when tiktok doesn't let you have your customers' data
English

@zachmstuck I’m sure AI will take care of it for us soon 😅
English

@DylanAnder @ImChaseMohseni Maybe they should start selling ice cubes 🧊 next. Another plug 😏 @drinktenzo
English

@thewillmauro @ImChaseMohseni Yeah there’s like 100 things I love about this
English

This got me hooked.
I loved this implementation of animated explainers that show how to enjoy Tenzo.
What say you @DylanAnder - great CRO? Should it be higher on the page?
I do wish more brands would employ this to give a tactile way for prospects to understand their product.
English

@businessbarista That 3 second visual change is so important to keep attention. Celeb mentions are hit or miss. The tone (vibe) and speed of information is definitely another key factor here.

@johnhfio I remember this when we met. You’ve come a long ways homie 😎
