A woman was complaining of pain at the outer backside of her knee and felt a level of instability progressively worsening especially when climbing stairs. She tried multiple treatments as provided through the medical establishment but none worked and finally got an MRI. She was told that she was bone on bone and the thing that scared her the most was that the back of her kneecap was thinning and as such she required a total knee replacement. The really cool part of this story is that I had treated this woman 18 years prior when I had an office in New York. You must wrap your head around the significance of the fact that she contacted me to resolve her symptoms and return her to full function.
In this case I performed a zoom session to treat her. I believe there is still some concern about the effectiveness of the method when utilizing zoom sessions. But here is an exact case in which by the end of the session the woman was pain free and fully functional. I don’t deny that massage and stretching speeds up the process of getting a muscle to its most optimal length to create its most optimal force to allow it to achieve pain free full function but it is still completely possible without the massage or stretching.
Without having me evaluate her and treat her she would have just been put on the list of people with failed knee surgeries on their path to indefinite pain management and a collapse of their functional capacity.
Let me show you another baseless knee replacement avoided. theyassmethod.com/another-basele…

In this post I want to discuss the idea of drop foot. The discussion must center around whether the foot drop is due to a neurological deficit versus simple muscle weakness.
I want to discuss a very specific case in which a gentleman walked in here and there was no chance this guy was going to be able to raise his foot at all. It definitely appeared that the anterior tibialis was flaccid. I will also explain the treatment I provided and the miraculous recovery he experienced.

On a daily basis I encounter people suffering with chronic pain for months, years or even decades. This really doesn’t make sense if the core understanding of what pain is and how to properly identify it was provided through the existing medical establishment. But sadly, it is not.
A core question must be answered. What is the tissue in distress eliciting the symptoms being experienced. Every tissue creates a specific symptom and every symptom is created by a specific tissue.
The Yass Method answers the questions as to why pain exists, and which tissue is responsible for creating the symptoms experienced so concisely that pain-free full function can be achieved in just weeks, not months or years.
By the end of this post you will see that The Yass Method can answer the one question you need answered to resolve your chronic pain.

This is another story of a person being misdiagnosed and unfortunately getting a hip replacement she did not need. After the failed hip replacement this woman’s mindset was that she was simply going to have to live with the growing pain she was experiencing and simply reduce her functional level. This is a horrific mindset.
I want to explain the sequence of events that occurred so you can understand why the false diagnosis was derived and how this may be a very similar circumstance you find yourself in.

I have recently had several people seek care through the method who were complaining of pain under the arm to the chest. Some describe their symptom as feeling like they were having a heart attack because they had difficulty breathing. Some people also complained of pain down the back of the arm to the ring finger and pinky along with the pain under the arm to the chest. In all of these cases the symptoms were brought on by activity and if the activity was stopped the symptoms at least decreased.
You must understand that 90% of the body’s mass is muscle. Muscle is the primary tissue responsible for activity. So if you have associated your pain to performing some activity by definition you have defined the tissue in distress as muscle. But you will never get confirmation of this through the existing medical establishment which is the reason that chronic pain continues and will never diminish one iota as long as the structural model of pain is implemented to diagnose the tissue in distress creating symptoms.
Let me present to you how The Yass Method has shown that pain under the arm to the chest is most often muscular.

If you are into strength training or weightlifting, there is a good chance that you have heard of the upper trapezius or middle trapezius muscles. The upper trapezius connects the shoulders to the neck and the middle trapezius lies between the shoulder blades and connects the inner side of the shoulder blade to the spine. The common weightlifting exercises for these two muscles are shrugs and lat pulldown with neutral bar. Now the reality is that most people don’t have a complete grasp on how to exactly strengthen them but at least they are making an effort.

In this particular case this guy in the short term had suffered for the past five months reaching a point at which he could barely do any type of weight bearing activity without inciting his pain in the upper inner gluteal region wrapping around to his hip on the right side.
The Yass Method has the understanding needed to properly diagnose the cause of pain and other symptoms. The interpretation of symptoms is the only true mechanism. In more than 98% of cases treated over 3 decades it has shown the cause of pain to be muscular even when structural abnormalities were identified by MRI. In this particular case that MRI finding was 100% baseless. The reason is because this guys’ pain was in his gluteal region and the MRI was taken of the lumbar region. No aspect of the lumbar spine could create pain in the gluteal region. The gluteal region is innervated by the sacral spine. So, there was absolutely no question that any treatment performed to the lumbar spine was going to do anything to affect his pain or loss of function.
The Yass Method’s outcome measure is pain-free full function in weeks. This is what is expected for every single person that implements the method.

In this blog post I am going to describe exactly how the MRI leads to a completely baseless diagnosis which prevents the proper tissue in distress eliciting the symptoms at the shoulder from being identified and treated.
You will see that all the treatments that are provided based on the MRI finding never have the opportunity to address the proper tissue creating the symptoms being experienced which is why chronic pain exists indefinitely and why the person typically ends up on pain management.

The only legitimate mechanism for diagnosing the cause of pain or other symptoms is the interpretation of the body’s presentation of symptoms. This concept was created by Hippocrates, the father of medicine and was an accepted mechanism all the way up to the implementation of the MRI. I am literally providing you in this post the evidence developed not by me but by organizations who are looking at the issue of chronic pain and how the cause is being identified.
The major medical bodies like the American College of Physicians, American Physical Therapy Association, and the UK’s NICE are showing that in real world experience, the MRI is being utilized excessively beyond the guidelines created by the medical establishment.
The Yass Method has shown that in more than 98% of cases treated, even when structural abnormalities were identified by MRI, the tissue in distress was muscle. This allows for treatment to be provided achieving pain free full function in just weeks, not months or years.

The Yass Method follows the path set forth by Hippocrates, the father of medicine. It interprets the body’s presentation of symptoms to understand what tissue was in distress creating those very symptoms. So your understanding of your symptoms are pivotal to understanding what tissue is creating those symptoms. This is why the beginning of every initial evaluation starts with the person describing their symptoms including when they began, what types of treatments have been performed, what type of activities are associated with bringing on the symptoms, where the symptoms begin and end and so forth. The only person who truly knows your symptoms is you. That is why The Yass Method cares about what you think about your pain.

It is so disheartening to hear people tell me that they have been having pain or altered sensation and have been treated for months or years and continue to have the same symptoms.
When you come to The Yass Method and get treatment there is an immediate indication that the proper tissue has been addressed with a severe reduction of symptoms and return of function. The expectation is that within weeks you should be pain-free and fully functional.
In this post I am going to give you some examples of different tissues and explain how the distress of that tissue was resolved and you will clearly see that in most cases you can expect resolution of symptoms to occur within weeks. Then I will show you why The Yass Method is so effective in achieving pain-free full function in just weeks, never months or years.

The Yass Method has helped thousands of people resolve their pain and achieve optimal levels of functionality. It does so because it has developed the highest level of understanding of strength training.
Let’s discuss what true strength training is and why single leg activities have no place in strength training. theyassmethod.com/strenght-train…

The Yass Method has identified muscle as the cause of pain in more than 98 to 99% of cases and please remember that muscular causes cannot show up on diagnostic tests like MRI which is why structure is always identified as the cause of pain through the structural model. And it’s telling you that you can expect pain free full function in weeks through the implementation of the method as opposed to nothing more than pain reduction meaning you remain in pain indefinitely which is what the medical establishment would like you to accept. The paradigm shift is upon us and will be completed. It will happen as more and more people find out that pain free full function is a reality today through The Yass Method.
Let me show you what a paradigm shift looks like for you.👉theyassmethod.com/questions-answ…

I usually post about resolving pain or optimizing function. This time I thought I would discuss another benefit of strength training that is rarely presented. Type II diabetes is a newer disease entity. It falls into the same category as obesity and cardiovascular disease. These are not genetically based disease entities. They are considered habitual. Meaning that they develop not because of a change in genetics but a change in habit. These disease entities became prevalent in the mid to late 1980s. The cause of these as well as chronic pain (based on my 32 years of experience treating chronic pain) is the advent of technology and automation.
Type II diabetes is different then Type I. Type II diabetes means that the pancreas is producing enough insulin but the body almost forgot that it is needed to bring glucose across the cell membrane so there is a resistance that develops, known as insulin resistance and glucose simply remains in the blood stream. I thought it a good idea to educate the lay person on what Type II diabetes represents and how you can actually improve your body’s ability to implement insulin and allow it along with glucose to enter your cells naturally without the need for any drug.
