What's funny is that Wikipedia is a fantastic and accurate website but the real reason you can't cite it in papers is because it's a tertiary source. I was taught to use wikipedia as the starting point and use the citations as a place to find citable sources

isnt it a bit wild that universally people in school and workplaces were taught to approach wikipedia with skepticism for potential misinformation and now everyones virtually lobotomized by gen AI chatbots that just make shit up and youre expected to use them in some cases

@ummnoleave yes! and all encyclopedias should be used that way too. they're also good for getting a brief summary of a concept to determine scope and helping you decide what about your topic you want to address

I sympathise with the struggle of the therapist trying to figure out how to sign their emails. "Cordially" is too impersonal, any sort of "Regards" and we're already off in the weeds, anything more familiar like "Best wishes!" and you're just asking for erotic transference
