Personal Post 🩵 I’ve avoided sharing details of my current life cuz, well, it’s Twitter. Everyone is here for the nudes, and I know that. My output has drastically slowed down though and I don’t know if it will be picking back up anytime soon. I finally feel the need to share what’s up. I have 5 more days to find a job… Some of you don’t know that most of us have other full time jobs because content makes a lot less money than people assume it does. I have applied for over 100 jobs in the past few months and have only gotten 2 interviews. I’m ‘overqualified’ for jobs in my industry and underqualified for jobs in others. My resume is, in theory, that of a quite hirable person, but 🤷 I’ve worked hard and have a clear upward trajectory in my career and now I have nothing. By nothing I mean I cannot pay rent, utilities, any other bills, and can barely eat. Some really kind people have been buying me meals lately 🫶 In 5 days I have to let my landlord know if I will be staying or going. If I don’t miraculously get a job in those 5 days, I will have to leave NYC. This city is everything to me and I’m afraid of what I might do if that happens. ICYMI, I’m sober. It’s been increasingly difficult to stay sober through this. On top of that ticking time bomb of a clock, I’ve had a lot happen lately. My dad died on Thanksgiving. I fell in December and pulled a ligament and chipped a bone in my foot. My granddad died on NYE. In January, someone got a hold of my debit info and left me with $1.39… ya, it’s been hard to stay sober. I got another job rejection on Thursday, my birthday. It was a job I really should have gotten. That became a reallyyy hard day to stay sober and was full of many tears. I have to go to a meeting everyday now, something I’ve never needed before. I’m thankful for the people I’ve met in those rooms lately. I can’t do collabs atm because I can’t afford testing or hotels. I can’t get myself to film solo very often because, well, let’s just say it’s not easy to get in the mood when everything is crumbling like this. This job is difficult in that way. It’s a vulnerable thing we do and sometimes you just can’t mentally force yourself to physically fake it. I’m losing subscribers, and I get it. Lately, I’ve only been putting something out once, maybe twice per week on my sub channels, and it’s their hard-earned money they’re giving me. I can’t be upset at them, but I’m upset at the whole situation. Without what I could only describe as a miracle, I’ll be giving up everything but my dog (who’s 13 next month, but I can’t even talk about that) and moving across the country to live with my mother again. 34 years old and living at home. I’m humiliated, to say the very least. There’s a lot of trauma re my hometown –things I’d never disclose here. In 13 years of living away, I’ve never visited for longer than 5 days. Usually it’s 2-3. My antidepressants are not strong enough for that shit! Again, I’m afraid. I’m not sure how to end a post like this. I’m feeling vulnerable and concerned for how people will interpret it all, but it’s what my life is right now. I finally just wanted to be real and say why I’ve been so much quieter. If anyone feels like reposting or sharing anything of mine, that would be a wonderful and easy way to support me right now :) I wouldn’t ask for anything more.
