Since 2009, 19 individuals who were being held in custody at London's Eglin-Middlesex Detention Centre have died at the hands of correctional officers. This month, another incarcerated individual named Brandon Marchant was beaten to death. We need hold the government accountable!

The UN’s decision to investigate systemic racism within policing is HUGE. Justice and equity can never occur in our society until the racist underpinnings of the system are analyzed and fixed.

This is such a pertinent issue that needs to be addressed within society. In Canada alone, officers use racial slurs towards BIPOC and have harmful biases to treat them negatively. Correctional officers within jails should also be investigated. nyti.ms/3i5rYII

Now that we’re talking about police brutality, let’s not forget that racism is also embedded within the police force in Canada. There is an EXTREME lack of racial sensitivity by correctional officers towards BIPOC within prisons, and racism is the norm within these institutions.

#BREAKING: Dozens of police, security, drones & helicopters have surrounded people living in encampments at Trinity Bellwoods Park to evict them. Imagine if the resources spent on evictions were instead spent on housing. Shame on the City of Toronto!

The societal, psychological and economic underpinnings which disproportionately affects so many BIPOC in vulnerable communities within the country desperately needs to be addressed! Why isn’t the government uplifting these communities and investing in them?

This young man called the Police himself for help, and ended up getting KILLED. When are we going to start talking about the racism that clearly exists within the Canadian justice system?

Funny. He kills 4 people but the photo the news & media share is one of him running something that deems him to be harmless but in fact these people are thugs cluts & dangerous god forbid if it was a black man we know how the story will go
