Launching a national coding program aimed at reducing unemployment with laptops as the headline isn’t wrong, but it’s misplaced.
Devices are tools, not outcomes. The real questions are structural:
1. Where is the training framework?
2. Who are the delivery partners beyond universities?
3. What curriculum will be taught across hubs?
4. What universal outcomes are expected from every participant and training hub?
Without clear answers to these, announcing laptops risks becoming a visibility exercise rather than a capability-building strategy.
