Religion did not put us into any problem. All we suffer today is our disobedience to religious divine teachings. Yet we all fail to look inwards, blame ourselves, seek redress, and fix up. If half of the teachings of Religion is applied in our everyday lives, the would be a better place. But man will abuse all the teachings, excessively infringe, then blame same religion when the consequences set it. From corruption, embezzlement, same sex marriage, kidnapping, banditory, etc, tell me any of the major religions that support any form of immorality that we suffer today. Let's not be delusional and own up to our wrongs.

@thisisAkinola Religion has put us into more problems than our traditions.

It's mostly about classism, I-better-pass-my-neighbour mentality, and insults when it comes to shows like this in +234. You will see 2 broke a§§es broke-shaming one another in a show they came to find love. It's okay to pop the ballon if you don't like the person & still be polite. Personality is not the problem now, it's Aba shoes, gold and silver jewelries. Little wonders many relationships & marriages these days don't last anymore. Building on a wrong & faulty foundation is definitely prone to collapse.
Watch the USA or the UK version of this show and see levels of maturity, politeness, and mutual respect as it should be.

🚨 Louis van Gaal: "That was a Fixed match. They want to make Messi win the world champion no matter what.
But the truth will come out in time and when it does, it won't be good for Messi and his legacy."

20. Personal character is built through emotional discipline
Patience, humility, resilience, and integrity all depend on managing emotions wisely.
Application: Judge success not only by achievements but also by how you treat people during challenges.
Three memorable ideas from the book:
i. "Anyone can become angry, that is easy. But to be angry with the right person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose, and in the right way, that is not easy." (A quotation from Aristotle that Goleman uses to illustrate emotional intelligence.)
ii. Emotional intelligence is not about suppressing emotions; it is about understanding and using them wisely.
iii. The habits you practice every day gradually shape your emotional intelligence and, ultimately, your success.

Here are 20 of the most important takeaways from the book Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman, along with practical applications.
1. Emotional intelligence (EQ) can matter more than IQ
High IQ may help you get opportunities, but EQ often determines how well you succeed in relationships, leadership, and life.
Application: Learn to understand and manage emotions instead of relying only on intelligence.
2. Self-awareness is the foundation of emotional intelligence
You cannot manage emotions you don't recognize.
Application: Regularly ask yourself:
Whatp am I feeling?
Why am I feeling this?
How is it affecting my decisions?...

English

17. Success is a balance of mind and heart
Logical thinking and emotional understanding complement each other.
Application: Before making decisions, consider both the facts and the human impact.
18. Emotional intelligence can be developed
Unlike IQ, EQ can improve throughout life with deliberate practice.
Application: Seek feedback, reflect on mistakes, and intentionally practice emotional skills.
19. Compassion improves communities
People who care about others create stronger families, workplaces, and societies.
Application: Look for opportunities to help and encourage others.
English

12. Stress reduces performance
Chronic stress impairs memory, concentration, and decision-making.
Application: Prioritize rest, exercise, prayer or meditation, and healthy habits.
13. Optimism can be learned
Optimistic people recover from setbacks faster than pessimistic people.
Application: View failures as lessons instead of permanent defeats.
14. Emotional intelligence strengthens leadership
Great leaders inspire through emotional awareness, trust, and empathy—not just authority.
Application: Lead by listening, encouraging, and setting a positive example.
15. Conflict can be managed constructively
Many conflicts escalate because emotions are unmanaged.
Application: Address problems calmly, focusing on solutions instead of blame.
16. Relationships require emotional investment
Healthy relationships are built on kindness, honesty, forgiveness, and respect.
Application: Express appreciation often and apologize sincerely when you're wrong.
English

7. Social skills are essential
Building relationships is one of the strongest predictors of success.
Application: Learn names, show appreciation, communicate clearly, and resolve conflicts respectfully.
8. Emotions are contagious
Your mood affects everyone around you.
Application: Choose to spread calmness, encouragement, and optimism.
9. Active listening builds trust
People feel valued when they know they have been heard.
Application: Maintain eye contact, avoid interrupting, and summarize what others have said.
10. Self-control is a mark of maturity
Successful people delay immediate gratification for greater future rewards.
Application: Think about long-term consequences before acting.
11. Childhood emotional development matters
Children who learn emotional regulation often become healthier and more successful adults.
Application: Teach children how to express emotions in healthy ways.
English

3. Learn to manage your emotions
Feeling angry, anxious, or frustrated is normal. The key is controlling your response.
Application: Pause before reacting. Count to ten, breathe deeply, or take a short walk before responding.
4. Emotional hijacking can ruin good decisions
When emotions overwhelm the brain, especially anger or fear, rational thinking becomes difficult.
Application: Never make important decisions while extremely emotional.
5. Empathy is a superpower
Empathy means understanding another person's feelings without necessarily agreeing with them.
Application: Listen to understand, not just to reply.
6. Motivation comes from within
People with high EQ are driven by purpose rather than only money or praise.
Application: Focus on long-term goals and personal growth.
