I have a student who for the last 9 wks has done almost no work, and when I say hello he gives me the head nod or a mumble. But I say hi everyday. Last week he looked me in the eye said hi Ms Kaval, asked me for makeup work and did really well on the final. 1/2

Gr. 6 had an excellent trip to the McMaster Planetarium to explore space. We also loved the learning we did at the McMaster Nuclear Reactor. Check out how we tested “clean” on our way out. No one was left behind for decontamination. 😉 Thank you to our guides. @RidgemountHwdsb

We’ve been engaging in math inquiry using strategies from Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics for a couple months now. The kids love vertical surfaces and especially writing on the windows!! This engagement method sticks.

Saving this for a future math “What do you notice?” I’m not so great with the tv references, but can definitely think math when I see this.
