ADMK is winning decent number of seats. Looks like DMK's vote bank has moved to Vijay. In general, minorities always vote for DMK. I feel this time they might have voted for Vijay. Need to see the postpoll analysis. Lot of postpoll analysis would reveal what changed in Tamil Nadu. Many never expected this massive change.

"Based on a true story" are the most powerful four words in cinema. Its also the most misused. What if filmmakers decide to abuse your trust in biopics to inject ideology within? Let's decode 4 Dravidawood films, their Hindi inspirations & 2 antidote biopics in this 🧵(1/12)

@dmuthuk He said 40 cr is required at 60 for someone who's 35 - 40 now. That's like 3 to 5 cr to retire today for someone b/w 35-40 assuming he can generate 12% CAGR. Not way off.

I don't know why people are so disconnected from reality. Saw a post saying Rs 40 crores must for retirement in India. Do you know how big is Rs.40 crores? In India, only 0.04% of households have it In the richest country of the world, USA, only 4% of households have it If you take the entire world consisting of both rich and poor countries, just 0.13% of households have it. Even Rs 4 crores is difficult for 99% of the population. Saying Rs.40 crores is required for retirement only demotivate people because they can never reach there. These kind of posts at best serve as irritants.

@sumanthraman Good luck! I think the exit polls will attribute more votes/seats than actuals to TVK because from what I see/hear those who voted for DMK/ADMK are not so open for fear of being judged but TVK voters take a bit of pride in saying so..

Let me start this post with a clear Disclaimer: Predicting election outcomes is even more imprecise than predicting the weather. I have been lucky in predicting the last several Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections right and am due to get it wrong. Over the last 2 months I have spoken with thousands of people trying to gauge the mood of the electorate and have visited several of the constituencies too. In my analysis I have relied on the 2024 LS elections data rather than the 2021 data as I believe this may reflect the ground situation better. I have given TVK an overall vote share of 20%, (higher in the urban areas and lower in the rural areas) though I am not convinced that is how much vote share they will get overall. I have factored in VIP constituencies, the intra party issues in some seats, the weakness of the alliance partners and a number of other variables. I have made one assumption: The TVK will take more or less equal vote share from both sides though I have geographically segregated this. A slight deviation to either side may not have much of an impact, but a large deviation will change the projections drastically. While doing all this my focus was on seeing if the incumbent party the DMK would be able to hold on or not. The reason is, when there is a third player there is a natural slight edge for the incumbent. When in doubt about a seat I gave it to the DMK alliance. The numbers I arrived at are as follows: 1.DMK Alliance: 100-115 2.AIADMK Alliance: 118-133 3.TVK: 0-3 Could this be totally off the mark? Of course it can. If TVK takes much more of the AIADMK vote then the situation can reverse and the DMK Alliance could secure a majority. Also if AIADMK can hold its dominance in the Kongu belt and if the PMK pulls its weight in the Vanniyar belt and if the allies of the DMK implode (Cong, DMDK, VCK), it could push AIADMK+ higher. For the DMK alliance to win Vijay has to take a lion's share of his votes from the AIADMK alliance and a low proportion of votes from the DMK alliance. My gut feel is that there seems to be a slight edge for the AIADMK alliance. However, I do not see a total sweep for either alliance unless Vijay takes his votes totally from one side and wrecks the other side. I do not know as yet what the Exit Polls are going to say tomorrow. Once I get further inputs will update. PS: The TVK factor has made predicting this election the toughest one in recent times. There is more than a fair chance I could be getting this wrong. #tamilnadulegislativeassemblyelection2026 #TamilNaduElections2026 #TNElections2026 #tnelection

RECURRING REMINDER Be a voter, not a volunteer. The party you’re so passionate about doesn’t give a wet fuck about you. The neta you are emotionally stuck to doesn’t know you exist. And the ideology you’re playing warrior to doesn’t need your services. Be selfish.

For patriotism to work, one should love his/her fellow countrymen. Wish each other well. It doesn't when policies & politicians divide people on caste, religion, lang. When a child is tagged as an oppressor & another a victim the moment (s)he is born, you no longer wish oth well.

Saw Sridhar Vembu's open letter to Indians in US. The letter sounded really genuine. I just want to share a small quote from Charlie Munger: "Show me the incentive and I’ll show you the outcome. The iron rule of nature is: you get what you reward for. If you want ants to come, you put sugar on the floor." In general, people react only to incentives. If you search web, you'll know how China was able to get back talent from America. Sridhar has the ears of government. He need to discuss about incentives to attract NRIs come back to India. An open letter is unlikely to bring even one person back. We are human beings. We are not completely rational or logical people. All of us respond to incentives.

Puducherry CBSE schools have dropped French this academic year because the new 3-language policy allows only one foreign language, and English fills that slot. If French is removed from CBSE schools under the 3-language policy, who is responsible for: 1. Students who studied French from class 1 to 5 and now face discontinuity? 2. Private school French teachers facing job loss? Puducherry is proud of its French roots. Shouldn't we have a policy to Protect French education here? #SaveFrench #Puducherry #FrenchTeachers #EducationPolicy #cbseresults

@ARanganathan72 BJP said all d right things in 2014 & 19. But come '24, the loss of majority has completely thrown them off whack. Now, they've shifted to more & more freebies, reservations and minority appeasement. I just pity those who continue to support BJP based on their 2014/19 planks.

@ARanganathan72 In politics, winning the elections is the only permanent ideology. Poll planks keep shifting to what sells. It is important for us to quickly recognize the shift and re-align our endorsement. Permanent loyalty makes you no better than a sheep in the herd.
