Sudanese Armed Forces Announce Full Liberation of Khartoum State from Al-Dagalo Militia The General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces announced today, Tuesday, 20 May 2025, the full liberation of Khartoum State from all elements of the Al-Dagalo militia, declaring that the capital is now completely free of rebel presence. In a statement issued by the Office of the Spokesperson, the army hailed this moment as a major victory in what it described as “the war of national dignity.” The announcement credited these gains to the steadfastness of the Sudanese people and the sacrifices of the armed forces, noting that all military components remain engaged in confronting what it called the “thugs of aggression and oppression” and their backers—whether local, regional, or international. “We announce today the complete liberation of the entire state of Khartoum from any presence of terrorist elements of the Al-Dagalo militia, and the cleansing of our national capital from the filth of the rebels and their supporters,” the statement declared. The Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to continue operations until every part of the country is cleared of what they labeled as rebels, traitors, and agents.
