The fact that this guy still thinks he’s is right in this situation really bothers me. Bro wants to take legal actions, are you insane??? I swear, it’s not your fault, it’s the country we’re in.
Kenny Olo@kennythepapi

Prior to our legal system which has now been involved in this case, taking its course on this particular matter, for the sake of everyone who has ever believed in me or have stood with me in the past or presently;

I’m obsessed with the idea that someone, somewhere, is having the best day of their life right now. A proposal, a baby’s first laugh, a song they’ll never forget. Today is that day for someone. It makes me so happy.

“Why will you allow a girl come first in class?” A boy-child that grew up hearing this statement has been trained to see a woman as less intelligent, incapable of leadership and not worthy to be deferred to. God didn’t give him that orientation and neither did “nature”. The unwise male elders around him did. It was drummed into his subconscious mind by the misogynists in his environment. For some reason, I found it offensive as a child when told that. I remember asking the older cousin of mine why. I’ve always been vocal as my parents encouraged me to question things. So I asked him, “why can’t a girl be first?”, “What if she’s indeed smarter or she just is more focused?” He was like I should never allow it. I then said her ability to read and remember is NOT in my control na. Why should I be jealous just because she’s a girl? I ended the conversation by saying “Suzan is a very intelligent girl and if she comes first, she deserves it”. We were in Primary 6. I guess I grew up aware that it just didn’t make sense. The desire to be superior to a girl/woman has never made sense to me and it NEVER will. When a boy-child has been raised to see a girl as less, his worldview will reinforce it. He will believe she cannot be smarter, richer and more successful than he is. The sad part is that this limiting mindset has also been drummed into the minds of ladies to the point where they are afraid of being successful because men won’t find them “attractive”. On the flip side, the successful ones then consider themselves as “men”. This anomaly is a product of wrong ideologies in our environment passed down from generation to generation. A guy with this warped mindset sees a successful woman as a threat to his “masculinity”. He sees a vocal woman as insubordinate, which is very weird because he may not know her or even be in a position where the lady should defer to him in hierarchy. He just thinks because he is a “man”, he has to be in control. He will even use the Bible to defend it. May we all grow in wisdom.
