@thomas_cheesy yeah but high income earners would be able to skirt those taxes whether its in a tfsa or not. thats what they do. they have money to do it. i dont think the government will ever see those tax dollars even if you make it so that they cant put their money into those accounts.

tfsa’s are taxed before being put into the account. rrsp is taxes after taking it out. is this guy a moron?

@zachregnier no canada has has a progressive tax system, so higher tax bracket individuals would get taxed more for each additional dollar of investment income i’m not saying we as individuals shouldn’t use these accounts if we can, but that dudes points are valid

@thomas_cheesy dont they provide the same advantages for low income as well? high income will see more return because theyre putting more into it, but high income earners would find a way to skirt taxes whether these accounts exist or not. so wouldnt it be beneficial to have it in canada

@zachregnier he is saying those accounts give unfair economic advantages because they provide tax deferring benefits (rrsp) for high income earners and tax sheltering on investments for both he’s saying those accounts shouldn’t exist

@thomas_cheesy is he not saying that he wants to tax those accounts more? tfsa is already taxed and rrsp is taxed after use. why would it need to be taxed again?
