Leeds Cathedral packed for the evening Mass yesterday (standing room only in the side aisles, and we had to move people to let the processions pass). Brilliant performance of Allegri's Miserere by the choir - a pity it wasn't live-streamed. @DOLMusic @thomas_leech take note.

Fantastic year with these young singers, just part of our 7000+ children a week singing programme. A fantastic cathedral choir based in whole-class state school singing - a privilege to direct them. Also very pleased that the summer holiday is starting!

Sunday was our last Cathedral Choir day of the academic year - a year packed with not only the daily sung Vespers and Masses, but so much fun and achievement across the choirs, very well done to all our young singers!

Wonderful singing from our young singers - over 70 in the choir, first day back for most of them, from state primary and high schools, and turning out Durufle Requiem on 40 minutes of rehearsal. Such an inspiring and committed choir to work with!

Yesterday evening Bishop Marcus celebrated a Solemn Requiem Mass for His Holiness Pope Francis at the cathedral. The Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Schools Scholars and Choral Scholars sang Duruflé's setting of the Requiem.
