We are in #Juba today for the South Sudan #Leishmaniasis Technical Working Group meeting. We are discussing the results of the phase III MF/PM clinical trial and discussing the way forward as we work towards reviewing and revising the Leish treatment guidelines.

India is close to eliminating #kalaazar or visceral leishmaniasis, but we are not there yet. We need to address post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL), a skin condition occurring in 5-10 % people cured of kala-azar that can act as a reservoir of #leishmaniasis infection (1/6)
