Whitehaven Rugby League are delighted to announce the signing of utility forward Clarke Chambers from Whitehaven-based National Conference League side @kells_arl having made 21 appearances this term scoring six tries in their Premier Division campaign. Clarke is an exciting talent with all at the club looking forward to seeing him thrive on his step up to the professional game. He also continues the long tradition of community players from the Kells Club to sign for Haven and follows in the footsteps of his father Craig who played for the club making his debut in March 1995 making 159 appearances across 11 years with the club. Speaking about the signing of Chambers new Whitehaven RLFC coach Anthony Murray spoke saying “I’m really pleased to get Clarke Chambers over the line and offer him his opportunity to play professionally rugby for his home town. Clarke comes from a long line of rugby league players in his dad and his uncle so this is a proud moment for him and his family and Whithaven R.L.F.C.” The club would also like to thank the Kells club for their support in the signing of Clarke on his step up to the professional game with Whitehaven. Clarke is the first of a number of players the club have recruited from the local community game heading into the 2025 League 1 season with the club continuing to announce more members of the squad in the coming days. #WeareHaven
