@IWGplc_ @szeliu @spacesworks Good luck getting a customer service representative. We raised support cases, emails, in person follow ups and after 3 months got a 3 line reply showing they had not even read the case. @IWGplc_ has the single worst customer service I've ever seen.

Disappointed with @spacesworks under @IWGplc_: A system error caused a declined payment, yet they charged a late fee instead of using the backup card. Other hidden fees & poor transparency have made our experience extremely frustrating. #scam

@edfenergy @MrRobBell Total disregard! Weeks ago called to book a meter upgrade. Told this could only be done as an emergency when off supply. Yesterday my gas was cut off and called as instructed. Now told my request not "approved" and my kids stay cold until they can figure out their bureaucracy

@gunnarmorling regarding evolving protocol I always thought tagged fields (cwiki.apache.org/confluence/dis…) were a good candidate for this in the short term since they are optional and flexible by nature.

@thomaskwscott github.com/kroxylicious/k… should be a good basis for a proxy-based approach. Though I suppose it would need some extensions to the protocol itself, too, so as to specify the desired filters/projections.

Maybe it's a crazy thought, but has anyone explored the idea for basic predicate push-down (filters, projections) for Kafka yet? Would require broker-side schema handling ofc. Could be very interesting in particular for "Kafka as system of record" use cases 🤔?

@gunnarmorling full disclosure, I head up the engineering team for Conduktor Gateway (docs.conduktor.io/gateway/) so I'm going to favour proxy like approaches.

@gunnarmorling I've explored a few options, one is within the broker itself but there are other, easier options for this. Would love to talk to you more about it.
