I do this a lot. I mean it could just be that my hearing is getting worse, but i think I watched 85% of GOT with (cc) because I couldn't understand a single word being shouted during battle scenes.
Lost Kingdom is like 10,000 times worse for that.

Another current media trend I'd have never predicted: Lots of people watching with the captions on because sound mixing is so shitty that you can't tell what people are saying, and instead of studios adjusting the audio, audiences gave up and started reading their shows instead.

@megganpez So most important question so far. What is the greeting etiquette? Do we bow from a distance, bump elbows, bump fists, just raise a glass to each other? Or, by the end of the first night is everyone just so happy that there are hugs everywhere?

Serious contemplation this morning about attending game and CS confs in Feb and March. But imagining my response to meeting friends that I know are mask-naysayers... the anger welled up to such an extent that it made me realize I'm not ready yet. Hopefully in a few weeks. 😷
